Imagine yourself in this situation:

- You have a bachelor degree
- You can't find a permanent job, not even at the lowest level
- You can't pay your rent
- You can't pay your food
- You drink coffee at minimum wage jobs to keep yourself alive
- You are threatened to become homeless
- You have no family or friends to turn to

You are me now...What would you do?

Why are you drinking coffee at minimum wage jobs to keep yourself alive?

I have no money to buy food. Every penny I earn goes straight to rent and debt. So I would literally die without the free vending machines at temp work places.

Take your degree and expatriate to another country and start over.

I want to. If I had the money for even just a couple of train tickets I could at least try to find work in other cities. But I have literally no money. Zero. Not even a bike. I walk an hour to work.

Also, If I could just make a little money, I might get a loan. But how do I put the loan to good use and set myself up for life?

Like, law = compete with hundreds of other wannabe lawyers -> more debt and no job

engineering/computer science = get outsourced -> more debt, no job

medicine = same, because after the md there are only a few residencies for a lot of students.

Of course, if I get to ever study again I would make sure to work myself to death and get in a goof university

But so far, It's all guaranteed debt and little chance of a job and I'm not even in America, no offense. Just sayin Europe is dead too.

You need a short term plan and a long term plan.

Short term

1. Does your minimum wage job involve food? Talk to your boss and see if you can just deduct meals from your pay. Get a second or even third minimum wage job if you have to.

Long term

You have to think hard, but don't wait too long. Whether it's search for a job out of state or out of the country or even consider the military if you have the health and courage to do so.

But whatever you decide, don't let yourself end up on the street. Once there, your chances of turning your life fall to almost zero.

Worst case, you might be able to live out of your car for a short time.

Yeah I'm going to get a night job as well tomorrow if I can. Hope some night grocery or fast food store so I can feed myself, good idea.

I don't have a car or a drivers license. I actually wanted to join the military long before, but it takes a year to get accepted and I'm almost 24 now, wich means I'm reaching the age limit. Plus Crohn's, but no flare ups.

I meant don't pay your bills, save up all that cash, and right before they take your ****, hop a plane and get a job teaching English in a foreign country. If you really want to give the system the finger, take out some loans and max out your credit cards with cash advances.

I love your idea, but I don't have the balls. If I can't even hold a job at a grocery store, how would I ever hope to get to teach English as a non-native English speaker?

Besides, I hope to give the system my finger in another way. Like getting a good study, become a banker or lawyer and suck everyone and everything dry.

But to be honest, all I ever hoped to be was the main player in a RPG game.
Go on a journey, travel the world, make a lot of friends, fight many battles, defeat an evil villain. Just me in a happy fantasy world.

That's why I decided to study communications. Thought I would become some sort of Pook, outgoing fun loving guy that gets to visit lots of places and create my own stage.

But reality dictates that you have to have 5 years of experience just to get to update Facebook pages all day long. And I ****ing hate staring at a computer screen.

At first I thought I could study accounting some day or actuarial science, but in a temp job as a low level statistical analyst I got bored to tears. Where's the ****ing excitement in that? How do people even live like that?

But the worst f*cking thing is this: I worked years as a pr-assistant and did all kinds of extra curriculars. But employers don't even want to consider it as 1 minute of experience. Even worse: when I arrive early, take no brake and work late, people try to put me down. So hard work does not = succes or money. Only get taken advantage of and get kicked out again.

F*ck this world. It must be conquered and destroyed.

/rant. Had to get that out of my system. To more productive things: I have lots of study books and some knowledge about SPSS. Is it worth to take the time tonight and set up a blog or something, with some Google Adsense and make some passive income, if only a few dollars. Does it even work like that or does it take years of keyword optimising and begging for incoming links to make it work?

I also signed up for some low risk clinical trials.

Other creative way to generate income?

It's an extreme thing to do for sure, but if you're so bad off and scorched earth is your only way out, well, you might as well do it right.

I would sell everything I had that was non-essential. Since you have the internet, try craiglist/ebay.

I would use this money to buy a cheap bike for transportation.

Since you have internet access I would search for any other job openings.

---where I work the cooks/bussers/prep/expo people get FREE meals every shift they work, good meals too. So a restaurant would be advisable (high turnover means lots of openings). And once your in and deemed reliable it's hard to get fired, replaced.

I would find the cheapest place in town to move to ASAP. As long as it had a roof over my head, place to shower and sleep.

Once I got my foot down and established myself a little I'd start pursuing jobs hard that pertained to my degree.

I would find a cheap gym to work out at. (YMCA's usually have financial aid memberships).

Thanks. Too bad I have no valuable posessions and I already live in a small chamber of 150 square feet/14 square meter. I pay 400 dollars for that. It's notoriously difficult to find something cheaper. I also sleep with a matress on the floor. I have no television or anything I can sell.

I see your point. I need to learn how to sell myself. How do you sell yourself besides the obvious things?

And Danger, I wasn't even planning on all that! My plan was to work hard now, stay single and live as frugal as possible, than retire early. I'm working 1 minimum wage job now and it's about to end because I worked so hard that I finished the work early. I can't find work as a waiter because they ask for years of experience for temporary waiter jobs and special skills like walking with 3 plates and I can't do that.

But DJ's, I also need a future plan! I mean, with a minimum wage job I can't get the experience for something better and I would be stuck in minimum wage jobs forever. So what will be the best investment of my free time? Will start writing some online articles help me with a entry level PR-job?

And maybe you can give advice on using keywords and stuff to generate traffic? On the other hand, a lot of succesful people don't seem to be using them. Is it necessary or the best thing to do at all? Like on LinkedIn and blogspot.

how do you sell yourself? its almost the exact same way you sell yourself to women. CONFIDENCE. practice my friend. and more practice.

Start looking for jobs. start booking those job interviews. not 1 or 3 or 5. im taking double digits here. whether it be for a security guard at a night club or taking phone orders for a product. anything to get your feet wet.

the more and more you go through these interviews the more you will gain confidence from them. and evenutally you will find something you will like.

but the first step is to make that effort. the ball is in your court bro.

You are intellectually poor.

You don't even seem to allow for possibilities.

You need to learn to dream about possible things to come, and the endurance to pay your dues.

Loser is as loser does.

Go out there meet people, learn what people need and are willing to pay for, collect your fee for bringing buyers and sellers together.

It is all about opportunities, where there is people, there are opportunities.
