Yes, this is generally quite true. If they weren't unstable before, the job itself will drive them unstable.
And the reason is because strippers deal with a lot of rejection when hustling for dances - not necessarily because they're ugly, but because a lot of guys in the strip clubs are too broke to afford multiple lap dances, or they have a favorite dancer and will only spend money on her, and the popular clubs have a huge roster of girls so they have to constantly compete with each other for dances from horny guys....
Imagine the psychological toll a stripper feels when she's on stage and barely gets any tips, but the girl on stage before her had hundreds of dollars being rained down on her..... this makes her feel like sh1t because a female's entire sense of self-worth bases on how much attention/money she can get from men....
The constant rejection and having to witness other dancers rake in huge sums of cash usually drives them insane...
Ironically, this type of constant rejection is what most guys deal with in the dating arena, but most women are oblivious to the psychological toll it takes on men...

Its a bit of a chicken or egg conundrum but most strippers get into it because they can't hold down a real job since that would require them to be drug free, show up in time, be respectful, etc, and even if they had the ability to do these things they couldn't make near the money they make stripping. So what happens is these mentally unstable women, many of whom get into stripping as druggies to start with, are suddenly flush with tons of cash. What do you think they do with it? Well it sure isn't getting spent on a college fund for their illegitimate children or going into their 401k. Its going up their nose or to their pimp/boyfriends. This exacerbates whatever issues they had to start with and they end up dead, in prison or on welfare once their looks fade. Pornstars are just strippers with a bit more marketing talent and a higher class of pimp. At least that's the case for most of them.
There's all kinds. Some even MENSA members or that have Master's degrees.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Absolutely true. A fun fact, a lot of pornstars also do rounds in strip clubs. They leverage their porn fame to hustle thirsty dudes out of their hard-earned money.....
....these guys are willing to pay a premium just so they can tell their buddies that they got lap dances or even a VIP with a pornstar.....
I've got some VIPs with a few porn stars during my day.... some of them were just minor porn performers, and some of them were major pornstars whose names you guys would recognize (but I'm not calling out any names)....
The most successful pornstars have that hustler mentality......

If you think about it, it's a terrible career. Even if you don't care about the moral aspect, it's a career that starts at 18 and ends at 30, with pay cuts every year and not a high salary to start.
Plus, of course, it must be hard to sit down afterwards.

These days the average most stay in porn is 2 years. 10 years was something you could do 20-30 years ago.
Girls are easily used and discarded more than ever before, partly due to society's ADD nature.

It was on tv in the UK some years ago, it was a more general documentary about the porn industry, but that part grossed me
