what to tell a friend?

Hi all,
Recently, I had a friend ask me and I didn't quite know how to answer him this.
He told me he's been seeing a girl for a while, and on their 5th night out she brought him back home and all was going good. Obviously, it's a good sign how she's opening up to him n stuff but what then happened, was then he wasn't actually "aroused" by her, and ended up going home without having done anything at all.
He wanted to know why that was the case, I said that she just wasn't attractive, or maybe he was just tired you kno stuff to make him feel better but come to think about it, are those reasons alone enough for him not to get aroused?
Would like to hear from ya'll out there much appreciated!
