Title says it all. I´m going to college soon, but I´m still undecided what to study. I want to study something that I enjoy, but has also presents good job opportunities.

What I like to do:

- talk to people
- psychology
- writing essays
- doing research on stuff I´m interested in

What would be a good choice to major in according to the above that pays also pays well?

suggestions welcome...

It sounds like liberal arts, which is not so great in regard to jobs and salary. But if you keep a high gpa (3.5+), you keep your options open for grad school, whether in be in your undergrad major, mba, or law.

comm is useless but man girls major it in so you can scam some serious ass from class.

i think i mentioned this earlier on this forum, i was a finance major. im an investment banker now and thought i would love it but i hate it. it pays REALLY well but i hate waking up everyday and going to work. do something you enjoy as long as it can pay for the roof over your head- the rest means sh*t

I have no experience in liberal arts so take my advice with a grain of salt. If you want to get to the current root of thought you should consider neuroscience, or molecular biology.

College seems to be almost a given in most applications and comm is a very common major. Dont believe your guidance counselor or adviser in college. They want to graduate as many people as they can in their specific fields, or push you into a degree that they know you can finish with the max amounts of loans (money given to the uni).

Dont go to college just to go to college. Take classes at a community college if you can and learn what you want to do well making money. Look into the actual stats of the people who hold your major and their job placement. Do you really want to hold the average job of a comm major? Do you want to specialize in something like apologetic rhetoric? If so you should find a school that fits you and understand what jobs you can get afterwards.

My own personal opinion is that college is overrated unless you are learning an actual skill. Dont waste your time and money to have fun and not pick up any employable skill.

what about sales?
I believe I could benefit a lot from studying sales and it is kinda like a skill. In addition it combines lots of the things that I´m good at and that I like to do. You are also independent as long as your stuff sells well.
