The person I consider my best friend is a female bartender and the bar that is my main hangout. A 10 in my book but she has a boyfriend and I respect that. On one occasion I was 2 feet away from her and she was conversing with another bartender. She said "My boyfriend's best friend, he comes across as gay but I don't think he is gay because he likes having sex with me." From that I gathered that she is not exclusive and that her boyfriend is fine with it. I began wondering if I could have it with her.
Well, months later I said "I will ask you only once, can I have sex with you?" After further education I realize that was probably not the best way to go about it but anyway she just gave a one word answer: no. Minutes later I told her I hoped I did not ruin our friendship and she said "you didn't ruin anything, but that was inappropriate and you need to realize I have a boyfriend." A seeming contradiction of what I thought she said before all though it is possible I misheard her the first time.
Now I am not asking what I did wrong although I welcome any feedback on that. My question is what it may imply about her (again assuming I heard her correctly).
