Anyway after reflecting on some things today, i realized im not exactly in a good situation..

I still live with my parents.

For those of you who still live with their parents, and if your date has her own place...do you guys usually suggest going back to her place?..or wait for her to bring it up?

Honestly it sucks right now cause asking a girl to come up is like, hey babe meet the parents! i guess it wouldnt be a good thing to tell her you're still living with the parents either..

I know how you feel. but you just gotta learn to deal with it. All the more incentive to get a job and your own pad. For a quick fix: Usually, I dodge that bullet by using the car.

Why not just drive around in a camper? Just don't get down to business in a school zone.

well if you have a car and money is not a problem. You could rent out a motel room for a night.

Or just do it in the car.

oh i know how this is. moving back with parents definitely makes it difficult to do anything. it's even more difficult if the girl also lives with her parents. suggesting a hotel sucks cause it ruins the natural flow of sex just happening. i've actually had a girl change her mind on the parking lot of a hotel. when you suggest a hotel, she knows 100% whats on your mind as opposed to inviting her up to your place to check out your new pet turtle. the best way around this for guys in our situation is for the girl to have her own place...and for us to set goals and eventually move out and become more independent

Solo1,

Assuming you are not in high school, you have to move out. That's it. Do it ASAP.

You are probably under the belief that you are saving money + you get free meals. The reality there's is something that is very comorting about living at home and you don't want to leave yet.

However, in the long run, the development in your confidence and manhood you will incur from being on your own will pay dividends that will far exceed the minimal cost savings from not paying rent. Let's face it: the money you are supposed to save, is probably being spent foolishly anyway, right?

Get some cool rommmates and start the adventure of living on your own! By doing so, you will learn to manage your finances and develop interpersonal skills by living with people your own age.

Maybe this post might not speak to you...I don't know but maybe someone else may read it and it will resonate with them.

Best of luck....................Lesson

i have thought about moving out in the past, but to find an apartment in manhattan and share it with a roomate will be quite costly. apartments go as high as 2400 here. perhaps elsewhere would be a better choice. Even wiht roomates it can also be costly.

i have a good amount saved. And have a decent paying job that i work part-time.

i've figured that if i do move out and bunk with a roomie, i can live off those savings at most probably half a year which includes other expenses.

So i figure its pointless unless i find a sweet paying job or until i graduate. almost everyone i know who live alone or w/roomies are the ones who are covered by their parents...around my age anyway.

I was planning on moving into Philadelphia with a friend between the two of us it would only be $440 a month with utilities. Not to shabby.

NYC is way to expensive in my taste. I could even go get an apartment that is somewhat nice for $300 out here.

**** this dude. Just bring the girl over, and your parents wil llearn to deal wth it. If it is a big deal for you that u live with oyur folks, then it will be a big deal for the girl, and vice versa. i.e. dont make it a big deal

LISTEN TO THIS MAN!!!!

If you bring a girl back to your place at around 11pm or so, your parents are probably already asleep anyways right?

Just listen to the quoted advice. If its not a big deal for you (and you live with them!) then it shouldn't be a big deal for her.

peace

I live with my mother still. But I agree I should move out and I will. But I do need a good paying job. Not kroger bagboy. Thats not enough to pay for my supplys.

But Don't let the fact that you live with your parents stop you for being a DJ. Some AFC tried to diss me about that and I told him to pay for my rent, clothes, food, gas money, car insurance gusse what he happen? He end up shutting the F**K up.
Never never never let anything hold you back from be becoming who you want to be. I'm 5'4 and I don't even let that hold me back.

Its true.. I still live at home and there is absoultly no reason i should. Part of the reason i stay is because i love my family. I keep the house interesting, my younger brother gets pissed when i tell him im moving out. I make 55,000 a year and could easily move out. I keep rationalizing well im saving money, however i am not... I spend my money like an idiot, i blow 200 bucks a month on supplements, close to 300 dollars on the weekends im not working going out and partying, blow at least 200 bucks per paycheck on clothing and dumb****, have a 550 a month car payment. If i would have moved out i wouldnt be blowing all my money on this dumb **** and would be able to pull a ton more ass, simply because i have my own crib. Right now i am looking to buy/build a house and get the hell out !

I currently live at home and its definately harder with chicks. It is definately more beneficial to move out and get your own place. I really like my parents and we get along really well but I just want my privacy. Just get a few buds and find a place.

I am actually building a house now. I got lucky and my parents gave me a peice of land they inherited. I really can't wait until its dones. Two of my best friends are gonna rent rooms. I anticipate my game stepping up seeing as how I will be 20 with my own place.

I'm 25, make close to $40,000 in the Philly area and still live at home. I am saving for my own place to buy, not rent. I have about 3 times said I was moving out and parents strongly discouraged it saying it was a bad business decision and I'll be throwing money down a well. Thing is even relatively cheap condos are expensive in this area. My parents are generally fine except they are much more conservative about sex than I am and are practicing Catholics. I want to move out, but I don't want to make a boneheaded financial decision and not be able to save money. Part of me thinks this is simply my parents putting this **** in my head and I would stop spending on stupid **** such as expensive drinks or DVDs. I need help mainly on how to deal with them.
