I would guess it's a combination of many things, some that I listed below.

- Mating has historically been arranged until the last 50 or so years.
- Culture is more traditional where there's less women in the work force. Often times, partners meet each other at work.
- Standard of living is very high, market is very competitive due to focus on education, and less suitable partners that can sustain a family, thus decreasing the attractive of supply side on the male partner side for women.
- Small countries cramming people into a small land mass, making it difficult for the country to expand outward, thus must go upward. Limiting economic growth activities and income, thus requiring for highly skilled labor, increasing standard of living.
- Passiveness of the region culturally (less prone to war, maybe outside of Japan), men and women are more passive, crime rate is extremely low, and women being approached by men are also low. Hence when non locals, like americans/europeans go over and talk to a girl they find attractive, that is likely the first time in that woman's life that has happened (depending on the attractiveness).
- due to lacking amount of land to expand, real estate is ridiculously expensive

Basically, they are overworked, have a higher standard of living than 3rd world but are still poor, can't afford homes or to start a family, making many men depressed and not suitable mates, and making it difficult for women to find partners as well.
Great observation. I agree Japan is a tiny land mass

Japan has superior martial arts but not sure how they view a westerner learning it
I lived there for ten years. It's not as bad as people are making it out here.

I even lived in a small town. I never experienced any of the "anti-gaijin" stuff people complain about.

BUT, you need to speak Japanese. If you can speak Japanese nobody really cares.

I knew a dude there who was from some African country.

He learned fluent Japanese, married a Japanese lady and got a regular job teaching (not English) at a Japanese high school.

I also knew another guy who spoke fluent Japanese and taught music (in Japanese) at a university.

I've also known plenty of guys who went there in their 20's, learned the lingo, got married to Japanese ladies, and had a family.

To all folks who want to go to Japan, forget the naysayers.

Just realize you'll need to learn the language if you want to fit in.

If you're willing to learn the language, you'll have a blast.

I lived in SK for a year, not long enough to learn the lingo well enough, so I don't have sufficient data.

But I imagine it's more or less the same.

If you can speak the language and are "normal" you won't have a problem.

I would say if you speak just a little of the language (Japanese or Korean) you'll find plenty of ladies for some short time fun.

Don't know what they call them in Korea, but in Japan they are called "Gaijin Hunters."

OP get your facts straight, you're talking about East Asian countries (mostly China, the Korean peninsula, and Japan). SEA (South East Asia) is different.

Definitely agree it's not as bad as people say and I was merely pointing out why birth rates and depression is high, and not highlighting any of the pro's as the OP's post was asking about those specifically. My wife is from East Asia as well. Data is showing it's not ideal scenario obviously, but there's always pro's and con's to each side and those countries definitely make it work well. I personally like Asia a lot better for living. Safer, cleaner, everything is very convenient/cheap, they have everything we have and more. Technology infrastructure is significantly way more advanced than any of the western countries

I always thought Japan and SK were pretty nice places, maybe they are - their culture is still intact and haven't been infected with feminism yet. However it seems like the women have a massive social media addiction and I've heard they basically spend all day on their phones taking selfies (and seem to be using sneaky faceapp/filters too). And apparently there is an epidemic of loneliness that pales in comparison to here.
Meanwhile, some dude on a Japanese or Korean forum is writing something along the following lines:

Man, I always thought that American women were slim, elegant, classy and well-spoken, like actresses in the movies. I was shocked to discover that most of them were actually fat, dumb, sloppy wh0res!!!

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Yes they have. Get this notion out of uour head. To get away from feminism you are looking at Cambodia North Vietnam and rural Phillipines
I saw a video where people interviewed Japanese women on the street and asked them what feminism was - most of them didn't even know what it was.

80s heavy metal is still very popular in Japan. They know what it is they call it by another name.
I'd like to see a Japanese 80's metal band where the singer screams out "TOYOTA!!" or 'SONY!!!" instead of "PHUCK YOU!!!" like they did at their jobs' pep rallies back in the day.

White man came across the sea
He brought us work and factories
He showed us how
To make shiny things
And how to live
in harmony
We went to work
And never stopped
There are four gray walls
But there is no clock

(galloping bass line)

Run to the job
Run for your money

Hi Flexport,
You want to visit Singapore?...can't think why...I have passed through there countless times as I only use their Airline, which I consider without equal, but I have been stuck there for as many as four Days at a time...Unless you own an oil well, you can't afford the place...Step out of the Airport and its like opening an oven door ,soo hot and humid...In its defense it is the cleanest and best run City I know of...Do drugs and it's death row, litter or spit your gum and it's $250 on the spot.... Girls? Short Southern Chinese Women, extremely friendly, they approach you, beddable?not really there is genally a state of high morality...I went Dancing, sat on one drink all night, many of the Women looked like Whoores...Got in with a group of Chinese, talking to them several had Filipina Maids, were astounded I did my own cooking....Not Wifey material at all....You want that,The Phillipines is the go....Christians,English speakers, very American Culture, love Westerners.....Avoid the big Cities which are ****e holes,go to say Cebu or Puerto Princesa, just line up your Ducks before you go...Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
