Don't be too sure. Life is apparently extremely improbable on any given planet. Less probable than a jigzaw puzzle falling from a rooftop and ending up totally assembled by chance. For our own planet to have life, there were so many factors that had to be right, like the exact distance from the sun that doesn't fry or freeze the surface, the angle and the spinning of the globe, etc.

But, I suppose there could be life on other planets somewhere. It's an enormous universe. But people imagine "life on other planets" to be aliens in spaceships in the Milky Way. That is extremely, extremely unlikely. Life on our planet has existed for millions of years, right? Then in less than a century we went from Thomas Edison's light bulb to space flight. It might take a couple of centuries, or maybe less than one century, to start flying through space to whatever rock we desire in the Milky Way. Such a short time period.

Now, people imagine that aliens would be at that point in their development, like in Star Trek, where all the species seem to have developed electricity and gone from there pretty much at the same time - if any of them had done it a hundred thousand years earlier they would have colonized all known planets long ago.

In millions of years of evolution, how likely is it that the life on another planet would be precisely in that "exploring the galaxy" stage? It's like a speck of dust on the miles-long timeline of a planet. Far more likely that they are still just amoebas that haven't gotten there, or that they did it millions of years ago already.

And that they exist on some galaxy far, far away from ours is also more likely than that they would happen to end up in the same one as we did.

Ah, I don't say this lightly. I loved reading science fiction when I was a teenager. It would be great if it could be like that....

The majority of people from South American, Mexico and Central America are mixed (mestizo) between native america (indigenous) and the caucasian race (Spaniards, Italian, French, Portuguese, etc). That is the reason why some Latinos look more caucasian and have lighter skin, hair, eyes than others .. that is why some latinos look more indigenous than others .. how white or how indigenous you look depends on how much percentage of each race you have in your dna (some latinos might have no indigenous dna), and the only way to find out is to get a dna test such as the one done in georges lopez show

On top of that, the majority of latinos who live in los angeles are mexican and central americans .. in southamerica there is a bigger population of white people as in having white skin, light hair, light eyes (features of the white race) .. so might have crossed paths with a white south american many times in los angeles and you didnt even know because the person looks white, you assumed he was white north american

Spanish is not a race, is a language ... the terms Latinos/Hispanic are incorrect.
People from south america, central america, mexico are NOT Latinos NOR Hispanic

Hispanics are people from Spain, the word Hispanic comes from hispania, as in Espana (Spain in Spanish), in only refers to people born in Spain.

Latino refers to the Europeans whose native language comes from Latin, such as Spaniards, Portuguese, French, Italians and Rumanian's .. it only applies to those Europeans.

People from south-america, central-american and mexico are most of the time mixed people and in many countries from southamerica, people from many different races.

"Latinos" are the most stupid and ignorant ethnicity because they assume a label (latino, hispanics) that it doesn't belong to them, many of them dont even realize that they are mixed between the white race and indigenous.

Im not hispanic and Im not latino, Im a white/indigenous mixed person from south american and proud of it.

Here's what I guess the OP means when he writes Spanish, which is his polite way of saying Latino/Hispanic. Now, this is just a wild guess.

I'm guessing he means the people who make up the vast majority of Latinos/Hispanic in the U.S. and are therefore the most likely to be visiting this forum. In other words, people who are a mix of Spanish and Indian, predominantly Indian.

I don't know, guys. Suppose this might be what he means? In other words, the same category of people that practically anyone means when they talk about Latinos in the U.S.? ....Except for those who find it politically convenient to deny all definitions, as a way of stopping debates by denying the language needed to even start the debate.

Having known a few Spanish guys from Argentina, I know they never call themselves Latinos. In their mind Latinos are the Spanish-Indian mix up north. It simply has no practical meaning to use the same word to describe Spanish Argentinians and Mexican Indians.


Hey - maybe white people are not a race either. Because "white" could mean African albinos, right? And maybe we can't talk about Asians as a group either, even though everyone here knows what we mean, because Arabs and Kurds also live in the Asian part of the Eurasian continent, so therefore they are also Asians.
