It means Latino, of course. And before anyone says that's an ethnicity not a race, I say it's very odd then that you can always tell by appearance who is Latino in Los Angeles and who isn't. To be even more exact it should say "South American Indian/Mestizo" I suppose.

Should be Jewish and Arab in the poll also, but what the hell. Funny that other groups are so far represented in a higher percentage than their part of the Western population, I would have thought it would follow demographics fairly evenly. Let's see if it stays that way. Then again the forum isn't only for Westerners.

The majority of people from South American, Mexico and Central America are mixed (mestizo) between native america (indigenous) and the caucasian race (Spaniards, Italian, French, Portuguese, etc). That is the reason why some Latinos look more caucasian and have lighter skin, hair, eyes than others .. that is why some latinos look more indigenous than others .. how white or how indigenous you look depends on how much percentage of each race you have in your dna (some latinos might have no indigenous dna), and the only way to find out is to get a dna test such as the one done in georges lopez show

On top of that, the majority of latinos who live in los angeles are mexican and central americans .. in southamerica there is a bigger population of white people as in having white skin, light hair, light eyes (features of the white race) .. so might have crossed paths with a white south american many times in los angeles and you didnt even know because the person looks white, you assumed he was white north american

Spanish is not a race, is a language ... the terms Latinos/Hispanic are incorrect.
People from south america, central america, mexico are NOT Latinos NOR Hispanic

Hispanics are people from Spain, the word Hispanic comes from hispania, as in Espana (Spain in Spanish), in only refers to people born in Spain.

Latino refers to the Europeans whose native language comes from Latin, such as Spaniards, Portuguese, French, Italians and Rumanian's .. it only applies to those Europeans.

People from south-america, central-american and mexico are most of the time mixed people and in many countries from southamerica, people from many different races.

"Latinos" are the most stupid and ignorant ethnicity because they assume a label (latino, hispanics) that it doesn't belong to them, many of them dont even realize that they are mixed between the white race and indigenous.

Im not hispanic and Im not latino, Im a white/indigenous mixed person from south american and proud of it.
