Hey I need some serious motivation right now.. I'm down in the dumps and very long story to short, I need some motivation to get back up to where I want to be.

A few friends at a time here in Toronto isn't doing the job right. I'm not where I wanna be and motivation is the key, I just can't seem to make any of it up myself.

How do you do it?

HM, nice question!

I think everyone has their way of course! I personally LOVE to go walk my dog. It's been said that waking IS the best possible exercise.

It's SO AWSOME! !I gotta go walk to clear my head" ever heard that one? :D

.... But today I'm especially motivated!! I've been reading some humor sites and comics, and the thing I've done today is FAKING laughter. If you read that it's the best medicine, you just have got to try it to understand it.

Bascilly, your body doesn't give a **** if you're faking it or not, your mind knows it's false, but you laugh, and your body releases feel good hormones. :D

It will turn into real laughter as fast as you know it! :D

Another thing is sleeping, that I'm going to do right now. Taking long long walks makes you without energy and you need time to recover, but if you're not feeling tierd, try faking laughter for some time by looking at some jokes or ****. I GUARANTEE it's THE BEST use for your time!

Good articles FuryGuy.

T-nation has some damn good reading on it for sure.

I though to answer the topic question what motivates me is awesome music.

So yeah I'm pretty simple like that.

Psychologists say a minute of forced laughter can help the blues, writes Richard Morin in Washington.

The news is grim these days, so we all could use a good laugh, even a fake one, says a psychologist who claims that a minute of forced laughter can chase away the blues.

"Forced laughter is a powerful, readily available and cost-free way for many adults to regularly boost their mood and psychological wellbeing,"
said Charles Schaefer, psychology professor at Fairleigh ****inson University in
Teaneck, New Jersey.

(...)

Why would phony laughter work? Because your body doesn't know it's fake, even though your brain might, Professor Schaefer said. "Once the brain signals the body to laugh, the body doesn't care why. It's going to release endorphins, it's going to relieve stress as a natural physiological response to the physical act of laughing.

I get motivated very easily by just wanting to be better than other people, at everything. And once I am better at something than them, I want to be better than them by as much as possible.

I think it's a bit of an insecurity more than anything else so it's probably not an option for everyone.

All I can say is that I was once in the same sort of situation as you, and what I did was to absolutely turn my life on its head. I told all of my friends to go **** themselves (they were a bunch of *******s that were just dragging me down with them) and moved hundreds of miles from home. It was a sink or swim situation, and when the only alternative is abject failure, you'll get that kick of motivation.

I can't explain the sense of liberation I felt that first day I walked around my new town, I felt like I owned the whole god-damn place.
