What Men and Women Look For, according to my biology professor.

Yo I am studying for a test on evolution and genetics, and I am watching a seminar where the professor explains what women want and what men want according to scholars. I will give you guys a copy of my notes.

What Women Want in a Man

#1: Socual status
#2: Intelligence (Social intelligence)
#3: Humor (Interpreted as less intelligent and trustworthy but more socially savvy and empathic)
#4: Trustworthy emotional stability (sense of rhythm, use of voice(according to the professor you can tell a lot about a person's emotional stability just from their tone of voice))
#5: Athletically Built. Length correlates with firtility. Men with girlfriends are an inch taller than single men on average.
#6: Love, affection, willingness to invest
#7: Good Health (Symmetry face and body).

Sexual Selection = advertising good genes.

What Men Look For in Women

#1: Youth. Fertility, health, energy for care of elders
#2: Beauty, advertisement of good genes.(Babies of 3 months already react to facial symmetry)


So to summarize:

Men: Beauty is quick indicator for good genes.
Women: 'Combination-strategy': monogamous, but when in doubt about their partner's genes, they will get inseminated by another man (spreading risks).

According to the Liverpool-flat study, the chance that a man's "child" is not genetically his, is higher when the man is in doubt whether the child is theirs, and 5-15% of the children in the liverpool-flats were not genetic offspring of their "fathers".

I do agree with the prof's assessment about what men want in a woman but do you ever notice how our society wants to make men feel ashamed for having just a short list of prerequisites in women which includes beauty, youth, fertility, and compassion for elderly/children? You ever notice how society wants you to drink from the kool aid of "a smart, educated, career-oriented women is more desirable because she is more stable and progressive bla bla bla"?

That's why I always laugh when I hear a guy brag about his girlfriend's education level but all those masters degree, job titles won't get your **** hard if her weight and SAT are identical...

So where does this leave us. Well believing that all attractive women want the same thing is stupid. We have personalities and different ideals. To what degree we value looks and personality is highly individual.

Well social status is at the top of the list man. I don't see how my model really is in conflict with your claims?

Of course it makes sense that individual women look for different traits in partners. But consider that in general they would rather share a high-status male than find some guy that's clear-cut for them.

Think how Hugh Hefner has thousands of women, and Oprah has 0 men.

Women dig higher status males.

Be specific please when you want to refute any claims I've made. It's not hard, you can just copy and paste.

By the way I also know of people with no money but tremendous social savviness and especially frame control that could seduce women at the drop of a hat. I am not going to say they have high standards, but they sure knew how to seduce.
