I sympathize with her. I saw her on the Donny Deuchebag show and she talked about how the military lied to her son. He was never supposed to be anywhere close the the front line. He signed up as a mechanic and wasn't even supposed to go to Iraq. They just threw him out there the first day he got to Iraq.

bad means to a good end.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

I think she has some good points, but has gotten carried away some of her actions.

She made a point to speak with Bush then said I guess it is OK that I don't speak with him. If you want something, stick to your guns.

Thats my thoughts exactly. Her son was an adult, he made the voluntary decision to join the military which entails you might have to go to combat and you could die anytime. Nobody forced him to do it. You can't whine in such a situation as much as I feel bad for her that her son died. He voluntarily joined knowing the risks and rewards.

Then why did he re-enlist?

Also, the President already met with her last year, which is rarely, if ever, mentioned.

And, why is she front page news, day after day after day?

She met with him before the Downing Street Memo and false pretenses of mushroom clouds in the US within hours.

She wanted to talk to Bush about was Casey's life worth it in light of these developments she learned since her first visit.

If that's true then why did he re-enlist?? That would indicate to me that he believed in the cause. In fact, he voluntarily chose to go on the fatal rescue mission which took his life.

I think her son was a very brave man. I think she is quite nuts. A very bad representation of the anti-war movement.

Regardless, she already met with Bush, but you wouldn't know it from media reports.

And why does she get so much press?

There are Mother's out there who lost their son's who support the war, yet they don't get any air time or ink like Sheehan does.

And what about the Downing Street Memo's?

The so-called Smoking Gun turned out to be a big bunch of nothing.

welcome to my world
I don't really feel much with regards to her being right or wrong...but I'll side with her wasting her time and life with this whole thing.

Who cares if the President's ratings slightly dip because of her? Bush is and still will be President. I'm not a democrat or a Republican, and I don't take sides because I am very conservative in some respects and open-minded/liberal in others. Chris Rock has a great quote about this, but I forget what he said...

...anyway, didn't her husband divorce her? Don't her other children refuse to visit her anymore, and disapprove of her recent actions? Seriously, what is the point of this charade? What is she trying to accomplish...okay, Bush apologizing to her son? So what, he'll still be 6ft deep.

Her son was an adult, and even if he died for a cause that she (or even if he) didn't believe in, he enlisted knowing he could die. I support the troops 100% and it was unfortunate that he died, but death is a reality in war...and there are so many other mothers that do not make the front page news for losing their sons...there are so many others affected by this war...(I personally know a few)

What's more unfortunate than her son's death is that she is still dragging this on and on...just let him rest in peace. She's basically saying her son died for something he didn't believe in...how wrong is that? Seriously, let it rest, and allow others to believe he died for freedom (at least have some respect for your own son...imo, she's a bit selfish)

She's not doing this logically. She is emotionally driven by her son's death, and she doesn't care that he believed in the cause he was fighting for. And not only that, but the VAST majority of the soldiers believe in the cause and do not want the US to pull out of Iraq until the job is truly done.
