What has happened to manly men

Out and about this weekend in one of the local towns, doing some shopping, out to eat, and enjoying life.

I'm a very observant guy, I've been noticing the younger generation of males are different, they have become feminized if that's the correct term or you can say metrosexual, they don't exude manliness what so ever. Myself I'm old school I dress like a man and I act like a man should.

Seen this one young guy with a partial man bun wtf? the other younger guys wearing metrosexual, hipster clothes. I really don't think a girl in her 20s could handle a guy that acts and dresses like a man they prefer their feminized lady like boys.

The older women I can get a reaction out of them, the younger women they barely give you eye contact. I can make a older women 30s and up giggle or laugh, make them feel a little shy, a girl in her 20s they seem to be intimidated. I think the future is screwed with men not acting like men anymore.

I have seen photos of men from 100 years ago, they dressed more manly and had mustaches.
But their shoulders were very narrow and their frames short.
Guys nowadays have big muscles from hitting the gym.

Definitely. I have very masculine body language and don't dress like all the other fvck boys. I talk in a deep baritone voice and strong eye contact. When I can get eye contact with women and converse with them, no matter what I can make them laugh.

But they are SO intimidated. Shy. Don't know what to do around more masculine men. It's difficult and if you don't act masculine they will drop you like a fly getting swatted out of the air.

There's just something about the whole modern weedy "haven't seen a gym in my life" sandals-and-manbun hipster aesthetic I really can't stand, personally. You talk to a lot of these guys and the outer bland weediness is almost like a mirror to the guy's inner personality. Sorry to any lads on here that might rock this look btw, this is purely my opinion here and you probably hook up with more ladies than me ;)

IMHO every other big "fad" (I.E. social movement, clothing statement) in recent decades has had some sort of strong conscious meaning. Think stuff like Mods and Rockers. I dress a little Rockerish actually. I like leather jackets because they're both super practical and I think they look really awesome if you work on getting well built.

By contrast the modern metrosexual hipster statement seems to be "Mehhhhhhhhh, I really like avocados and lattes, man. Manual labour is for peasants. Look at my expensive Mac with an obscure homebrew operating system that was programmed on an organic farm. Please, not the face!"

Like hippies but with more boring ideals and less personality. I think it's just the way our modern society has evolved, especially in urban cultures. Masculine physical strength and emotional reserve has become less useful (and so less attractive). While knowing what obscure underground arabica coffee beans someone likes in their "quadruple pressed choca-mocha foamaero cappuchino grande" is a useful life skill.

(Happily, I know that when North Korea kicks off and we all go full Mad Max, I will be the guy with the sawn off and the leather jacket, stealing all their coffee).

Lack of role models, no dads at home, and feminist propaganda on tv and magazines.

Also, don't assume all men were alphas back in the days, even Napoleon himself was a wimp when it came to women.

Napoleon was a midget so it figures.

The attack on masculinity is in full swing, it's everywhere in the media. Being gay is cool now.

Hitler was terrified of them.

Not Genghis Khan, though. He had more children than anyone in history.

How many times does this need to be discussed? Testosterone levels have fallen every generation since the 1950s when plastics and pesticides were introduced on a mass scale and have been replaced by xenoestrogens.

Men have less testosterone on average and more fake estrogen(which is far far worse than estradiol) causing them to act less masculine and more feminine.

Its pretty cut and dry. In fact its gotten so bad LabCorp has lowered their "normal" testosterone range by quite a bit on their testing scale.

Can we please sticky this topic so we don't have to respond to similar threads every other day?

I didn't realize this was rehashed to death, its just an observation of mine, I've noticed most guys are smaller they are not built large, I'm large framed big hands big feet, 43 inch chests size. I can get older women I mean 30-40s motor running flirting with them they get all smiley and giggly. Women in their 20s all I get is a blank stare, almost like they are scared to say something. A young woman that lives nextdoor where I work she's 27, she's almost emotionless around me she will wave once in a while but she's almost scared to talk to me. Her BF is one of these skinny guys no a lick of muscle on him, looks dainty.

Don't forget there is a lot more to being a man than appearance. Nor is being manly about being some braindead warehouse operative.

You could comfortably be a bit metro yet be extremely manly.

Somewhere along the line the fems made masculinity "toxic" and sadly this has also led some men to think masculinity is about being toxic.

The one thing I observe, mostly amongst middle class men but not enitrely, is bytchyness. Talking behind backs. Not being straight.

Being open and honest and direct are, for me, the hallmarks of masculinity. Also being tolerant and constructive.

Often I observe aggression, one upmanship and ego swaggering being seen as masculinity, which is an insult to the men who built this world. In my opinion, ego is a much more feminine. You see the ridiculous contests between women in the workplace.
