What happened to chest hair?

Ran the Tough Mudder this weekend and noticed all the guys who went shirtless didn't have hair. None. Out of thousands of guys I was the only one with chest hair. I can only assume the guys think (rightly or not) girls these days don't like chest hair. Anyone have data/experience on this?

My wife of 15 years didn't notice until I mentioned it and says she's indifferent. As we talked about it the only thing that struck her about the other guys was how immature they acted (avoiding eye contact, rude, boyish puffy chest kind of stuff). I'm actually proud of the gray chest hairs I'm starting to get. I wonder if women associate chest hair with maturity and girls seeking something younger skew hairless.

Androgyny, yeah.

I have a hairy chest and I love it. It's there for a reason. I refuse to shave it. I will give it a trim with the clippers every 3 or 4 months, but never shave. And I really don't give a damn what women say they like.

The only thing I will take a razor to is my neck (itches like a mofo), and the ol' fence post on occasion. The grass can obscure optimal mechanics :)

I have absolutely terrible chest hair. Very patchy. I clean shave my chest once a week, and use an electric facial clipper to clean it up every couple days if I know the shirt will be coming off.

Electric trimmer on my balls and shaft every three weeks or so.

When I have no prospects and I'm single and alone...I let everything grow to gross proportions.

Don't shave my arms, legs, or pits.

I have little facial hair, so people still think I'm in my mid-20's. Helps my game a ton....

i've never had one hair grow on my chest ever.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I have a somewhat hairy chest.

The only way I would consider shaving is I was ripped and had that 'clean' look that some do. The natural 'cut' look. I don't, so I'm not shaving my chest and looking like a dipsh*t.

In the end, emphasize your natural attributes. Don't try and be something you are not. And don't shave your chest because you saw a porn star do it.

I workout so I like to shave it, helps to show off all that hard work you've been putting into the gym. If I didn't shave it I'd consider it like having a nice car...but not sparkly clean. Also, in California it's pretty much a requirement. Unfortunately I get some back hair so gotta shave that. And yeah, once you get to a certain age you realize that hair actually does grow on your d1ck! That's got to go as well, chicks don't want to floss with your pubes.

I've got a somewhat hairy chest. Not a forest like Sean Connery's, so my gym-built huuuuuge pecs are nicely visible, but enough to remain manly. :p

I'm mostly hairy all over, and keep a trimmed beard and johnson. I'm Asian, and it's rather unusual.

I've noticed that younger white girls tend to not like hairy too much. They like my beard and chest hair enough, but always ask me to shave my beard clean after a while of dating, because they prefer my smooth face (I have incredible skin, apparently). There are exceptions though. One said she usually hates beards, but mine is so soft and nice that it actually feels good while making out.

However, Asian girls - esp FOB ones - cannot get enough of my hairiness. They're in awe if I grow my beard out lol. One got rather upset when I trimmed my beard once. I think for them it's a novelty. Asians have a certain odd respect for Asians who can grow a full beard and chest hair. Even the blokes think I'm boss for having a beard.

I'm not really emotionally attached to my hairiness, and I'd say most younger blokes are similar. If shaving clean helps us get more poons, we'd do it. I shave or grow hair depending on the targets I'm after. I can look very young clean-shaven, so that's what I'd do if I'm after younger girls, or grow out (only take at most a week) for a more mature look to attract older girls.

If you see more hairless chested fellas around, it is a direct response to female (young hot ones) demands. You can see the same kind of looks (smooth hairless pretty boys) being marketed to girls.

My chest hair is as bushy as a 70's porno actress's bush.

I trim my chest hair very slightly but don't shave. I'm fortunate enough to have body hair that looks fairly good. Enough to show I'm a man but not enough to be gross. A little up high on the chest in a fairly aesthetic pattern, a little on arms and legs, none on balls or back or shoulders.

If you're built and going for the pretty boy look then it would be good to shave your chest hair I guess. But I'm skinny and already look boyish so if I didn't have chest hair I'd look like a pre-teen. And I've never had any long-term girlfriends suggest I shave it. And LTR girlfriends always try to fix up my look otherwise.

haha. I took off all my leg hair, armpit hair and stomach hair the other day. Won't touch my chest hair though. I shaved my own head with a Gillete profusion razorblade a week ago for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

My chest hair is symmetrical, but it gets very bushy - to the point where I can't get sun on my chest. As someone who works out, I find I look much better when I trim it; nothing crazy, 1" guard on the clippers.

On a related note, I just shaved my balls with a razor for the first time. It's awesome. Never going back. Just make sure you use a good, sharp razor.

i dont know why but i cant grow a full beard and if i want to be with no facial hair i'd have to shave at most once every 5 days as that is about how long it takes for any face hair on me to start showing up, have hardly any chest hair, have even less arm hair, and people actually have asked if i shave my legs even though there is actual visible hair on my legs. not an overwhelming amount but its there. in my case i just flat out cant grow hair.

for whatever inexplicable reason my hair growth is on my head. my head hair grows extremely thick and extremely fast. Girls would probably kill for my head hair because it is so thick and grows back so fast i've had a few say as much in so many words. it is also naturally wavy and somewhat curly. these same girls would cry at my terrible hygiene lol.

honestly i wish i could grow a beard lol.

I have a nice set of chest hairs. Some of them are gray. I've never had complaints. The stranges thing though, is that during the past 15 years ALL the hair in my legs disappeared. I look like s swimmer.
