Went out for one of my friend's birthdays last weekend and it was a good time. There was a good group of us; we started at a nice steak house, then hit a couple bars. One of my girlfriends brought her sister out for the first time and we really clicked; she was in town just for spring break, but is graduating in May and is planning to move here. Possibly game on with her.
After the bar we went back to a buddy's place to chill and wind down for a bit. They pulled out a pipe and were doing rounds. I don't typically smoke, so passed. After awhile I was like what the hell, I don't get drug tested, have a stable job, why not. Well I haven't smoked in about 3-4 years, and accidently took a fairly big hit off of some potent stuff. It hit me pretty hard.
It was head to the pillow about five minutes afterwards, but I didn't exactly fall asleep. Apparently I was in and out of consciousness; it felt very weird, like I was in a dark tunnel trying to get up. One of my friends said she saw me start to throw up a little (while I was sleeping), so they poured water on me, but I didn't wake up completely. I think I was trying to wake up but all they saw were my eyes twitching and kind of freaked. They called the ambulance (this part I don't remember), and only remember waking up in a cat-scan machine 6 hours later. For the severe reaction I had, my BAC was pretty low (the nurse said it was ~.13), and the doctor thought there were more drugs involved. {Side note; it was pretty cool that doctors and police and ambulance didn't care that we smoked, although they obviously warned us to be more careful about it} I felt perfectly fine when I woke up, so they just let me go.
Have any of you experienced anything like this before? I don't understand why I had such a severe reaction. This wasn't laced weed as there were a lot of people smoking without any issue.
Please spare me the lecture about drugs and alcohol because that is not constructive. Obviously, I am not going to repeat what I did this night, but in all honesty, what I did was not unusually bad that should warrant what occurred. I'm not a rookie drinker and while I haven't smoked in ~3-4 years, I used to do it on ocassion during college, and never reacted like this. It was definitely one of the creepiest and disturbing experiences I've ever had; at one point I wasn't sure if I was even alive. Like I mentioned, it was like I was in a dark tunnel and had to keep moving up, but there always was another level on top. I vaguely remember brief moments of hearing my friends, but I couldn't tell reality apart from my "dream".
Luckily the new girl was not with us at the end of the night so didn't see that, I'm hoping she doesn't hear about this incident.
