Hey,
Invited to a party by a girl (G) I went out with a couple of times (caught up for coffee).
I went and was supposed to go with 2 guy friends who are AWESOME! We could have fun anywhere. They cancelled so it was just me. I went anyway. I got there and fortunately she rushed over as soon as she saw me. She was the host so moving about. I then went to chat to some people. I saw her intermittently but pretty much chatted to everyone else but her. I knew no one so it was weird but also interesting as I literally met about 20 new people last night in proper conversations.
She grabbed me and said she wanted to show me her room (separate isolated part of the house). Then some other friends grabbed her and we got caught with the final group of 5 at the party. The others pressed G for her love life. She said that an old flame from 6 yrs ago has returned for a holiday (translation old ****) and they were hanging out but he was leaving in 2 weeks and away at the moment (not at the party).
I did not react then the conversation changed. It was boring so I said goodbye and made to go. She came with me to show me out. Saying we must catch up soon and that her exams finish in 4 weeks. She was flirting with me the whole night but she is flirtatious by nature. So finally we are alone. She hugs me, I say bye and go.
* QUESTION: Should I have tried to escalate here. She was drunk. I just did not feel like it. I was annoyed by the whole ****ing her old bf thing and was frustrated that I was actually attracted to her when she was obviously an attention *****.
I cannot help but feel I should have done something so at least I may have made my 'no friend rule' clear.
Your thoughts and suggestions for the future (this girl and similiar situations)
* I am 'spinning other plates' but man it feels like such an effort to get plates spinning. Once they are spinning it is so easy. You get momentum. I just cannot get that momentum happening.
