Jesus man. Eat some food and lift some weights, it's not rocket surgery.

I'd recommend getting on a good workout program like Starting Strength. Combine that with plenty of good food and protein and you'll be on your way to "buff" in a few months if you work hard.

Steroids man, trust me. Take a shytload of anabolic steroids, creatine, and eat like 40-1,500 eggs a week and you'll be fine. Working out is a waste of time

good upper/lower body split... Think about adding 30-40+ lbs this year alone...

Eat like you mean it everytime.... Our bodies hate change and will do everything in it's power to hold your bodyweight at bay but if you get stronger and actually don't eat like a pigeon you will force your body to change it's composition and gain muscle/strength...

Get yours in the gym a minimum of 4-5 times a week hitting weights hard... (I'd lean more to 5 times a week)

http://www.exrx.net/

Use that to learn proper form on any exercises...

use youtube, joe defranco has a channel with lot's of info/vids on how his athletes train.

If you're looking to train more like a bodybuilder hit me up in PM as there's a few who hate on bodybuilding here.

Carlito,

reguardless of training methods employed, going to the gym 5 times a week is excessive for a lot of people. It may work for you but it doenst mean it will work for OP.

Ive found less is more with my workout, 3 times a week is more than sufficent for me, I can even go twice per week, do TWO exercises per session, and still see gains.

The link you posted, again, is great, but its also incredibly complicated and a beginner would find it difficult to stick to, he can get results as good with a simple 3xweek squat program of some sorts... can think of any off the top of my head :p

Nah, the body can take a ridiculous amount of stress and still recover, particularly when you're not pushing around massive weights, as the OP won't be capable of.

He's young... He'll start out weak as **** on any routine it doesn't freakin matter. As long as he gets form down, eats enough and increases reps/weights and works on getting technique down pat, he'll go far.

I made some gains when doing Defrancos, if I wasn't more into bodybuilding right now..that would be my go to routine. You're in the gym 4 times a week and as an option can do extra work on saturday..

That routine isn't complicated. There's girl athletes doing it !! pick one exercise out of each list...warm up to a heavy set on max effort day (Defranco goes into it @ the end of that page)...and strive to beat it week in week out and hit all the accessory work hard too. Curls whatever doesn't matter, every exercise, every thing hit it HARD. Than when you begin to stall on some exercises after some odd weeks...you switch it out and go back to it later...and see increases in strength and size across the board

There's no such thing as overtraining for most people there's only under eating, improper rest and lack of intensity/consistency and that get **** done attitude...

Well you've done the right thing already by asking for advice.

Start with the videos as stated above - you want to learn the correct technique before increasing weight.
Join a gym
Make friends with the staff/ personal trainers. Get them to show you the correct technique aswell as studying the videos.

Start lifting the entry level weights
You won't get anywhere if you don't dedicate yourself to lifting so be persistent and go as much as you feel you can. Every other day will result in noticeable gains.

You'll soon find it gets addictive and you'll want to push harder.

Make sure you eat shortly after working out. Diet is as important, if not more important than training.

Post here to update with your progress.

Good luck

Just giving you a little heads up. It looks really obvious that you are tensing up your stomach with the slight suck in especially in that third picture. I don't know if it's due to fat or you're just holding onto a lot of water.

Could be due to a number of things, bad posture, big bag of doritos before picture was taken, or maybe for a "dramatic" before picture like you see in magazine ads!!so when he gets big and ripped it looks a lot better in the comparison shot!!!

You're 17 aim to put on 48-50+ lbs in the next two years...hell some have done it in a shorter amount of time.....oh and your ass better be in the gym at least 4-5 times a week lifting weights seriously and not neglecting muscle groups especially back/legs.
