If you can buy a $15,000 car from 2003 to 2005 what would you buy?...and also, what do you guys think of Ford Mustang cuz I've been looking around and I see that Mustangs are cheap. I thought they were expensive. Plus, a lot of people are selling their Mustangs. Why?...are they really that bad?

Due to the instability of oil prices at the pump, I'd opt for a Toyota Prius or Honda Civic hybrid.

People selling Mustang? Braaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I own 01 GT. People might be selling a regular mustang, but GTs, especially 5 speed, late model and low miles (20k on mine) are hard to come by.

Great car. One thing, get a GT, 5 speed. If you can, better up with Mach 1, 5 speed. Even better, an SVT cobra, 6 speed. All coupes, verts aren't cool, but if it's your thing, for for it. Look for 03 - 04 Cobra, if you want to make tons of horsepower with a few bolt ons.

Besides that, any car is a box on four wheels, with an engine, buckets, and cd player. A bike could be more exciding.

V6 Mustangs are cheap, and slow.

What are your priorities in the car? speed, reliability, gas mileage, low price, looks?

Your priorities should buy the car, not what other people think of the car. Write down your priorities in order, and then write down what each car offers towards your priorities.

I'm only 20 years old and I definitely go for looks. I have that Mustang in mind. A black on black Mustang or a Subaru wrx. Somewhere on 15 to 18k range with less than 40k, 35k, or 30k miles. I would gotten a 350Z if only they were 4 seated. I actually had that in mind for weeks until I found out it was only 2 seated. I know, how dumb of me right?...lol...that Volvo looks nice!~

Volvo is a Volvo, Audi is an Audi. A german car is a german car. 30k+ miles for those cars is a lot.

My fiend has an audi and recently a thermostant went on him. On American car it takes a ratchet and a sucket to replace the darn thing in 2 minutes. On that piece of sh1t, you have to take engine covers off, and remove intake and timing belt, he paid $800 to replace a $10 part.

Same with Subaru, they are fragile, put a lot of miles on them, and they don't take it well.

Big American V8 vs import is like so. People drive both and don't usually take care of them. The little tiny import will have a lot more problems than the big a55 V8, later down the road.

Uhhh. 00+ stang is great. Thought, right now I'd go for 91 to 94 Fox body GT, 5 speed. Two reasons for that. A) It's faster (lighter) and cheaper to work on, and B) Dents.

You really have to watch those new boddies. In this day among SUVs and trucks with people that don't give a sh1t, it's very hard.

Why not get bike?!!

Thats the thing about european cars. One magazine editor compared them to

"Ultra high maintenance, flaming European *****. You give and you give and just cross your fingers that someday she'll reward you with that promised multiple orgasm session in a palatial hotel room on a cliff above the Mediterranean. Even if she permits this just once every year while reclined in your garage, it's worth it."

Generally, the more high end the car, the more maintenance, the more reward.

EDIT:
They also aren't that hard to upkeep in comparison to some tuning cars. Volkswagen/Audi Gruppe engines will last well over 200,000 miles with the regular oil change and timing belt every 60k. Some stupid stuff will go here and there, and compared to say grandma's civic its bad... but their risk/reward ratio is quite high.

Here is another one. A fresh one.

Today I'm fvcked up, right after waxing and oil change. I punch it while drunk and after taking corner, and the rear goes on me, so I steer right into some bushes, and across some sh1t. I went over bushes and sh1t like combine, and then I just went to a parking space. Realizing I'm too fvcked up to drive.

Then I take 1 leaf out of bumper, and that's all that happened to my stang.

That's why I got a stang, beyatch!!!!

Too bad about crashing the Stang, but at least you're ok.

I have a 95 Stealth RT that I enjoy a lot. I really like the Stealths and 3000GTs of the 90's. Mine is not the twin turbo, those are crazy fast, but go for about twice the price of the non-turbo. My Stealth was only $3,000 but I have spent that much on maintenance in the first six months of having it. (Getting better, though, previous owners neglected her)

Like someone said earlier, you could get a bike, too, if you got a cheaper car. I just bought a 2003 Yamaha R1 for $6,000:

So far the R1 has been a chick magnet. They like the car, too. You can pick up a nice used street bike for 3-4 grand.

Even if you count the maintenance on the car, I've still spent less than you are going to spend, and it seems like I have more stuff. And if you end up in a V6 Mustang or a riced-out Civic, then I will have a faster car, too.

Be smart about how you spend your money. Try to be a cash buyer and not Joe Average talking monthly payments with the dealership salesman.

Hm, an 01 Gt would go 13.9.. That's already faster than stealth. A mach 1 is 12.9. Cobra is 12 flat... 5.0 fox would bit 01 GT.. As far as competition goes, American muscle kills everything else any day. That bike is nice thought, I'd get a black one. Bike is good because you won't get dents.

I'm really into cheap turbo 4-bangers, so I'd probably get a WRX. I like ugly cars that go fast cheap.

BTW, I don't know where these numbers are coming from, but I raced an 01 SVT Cobra and he only ran low 14's.

When you go manual, it's more than tires and suspension setup, it's more about your skill. Give it time and you can be a pro, just like anything else.

Fankly, cars are just a box and four wheels, and buckets, and cd player. Go for a bike, imo.

There are many ways to be fast. Any turbo'd car with a $250 boost controller can be faster than a V8 Mustang. The engine might blow up after 20,000 miles, but any turbo'd car is fast while it lasts.

I really like the 300zx twin turbo cars of the 90's, and I bought one, but the engine is so beat up that I am putting some "American Muscle" in it instead, an LT1 V8 from a 94 Z28 Camaro with a 383 stroker kit and hot cam and trick flow heads. It should put over 400 hp to the rear wheel, but the low-end torque of the V8 is the real appeal. Someday if the mechanic ever gets it done, the car will be a lot of fun. If I ever get to where I can hold the road with it and want more power, there is a rear-mount twin turbo kit available for the Lt1...

There are some very fast turbo'd cars of all types. There's a guy in Kentucky who gets 1200-1400 hp by putting giant turbos on Buicks.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.
