Echoing the above and would also recommend Epictetus, but M Kiekegaard is probably a good one too though I have not read him yet but I get the impression he thinks everyone has a duty to be their best.

The Bible, I recommended starting at the New Testament but read from the beginning if you want to get the real flavour of our existence and history.

Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, by Covey. That is all you need. But then you need the discipline to build these habits. You can't read a book and immediately develop mental toughness... You really don't need a book to do this. Mental toughness is a function of disciple, and discipline can only be achieved with practice.

My advice would be to pick one thing, that you are pretty sure you could not master... then master it. It could be anything from learning to juggle, playing a musical instrument, learning a new language, or to be more productive... complete a professional certification you need to expand your business opportunities.

Please go on brothers, I'm making a list for myself here.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

Books cannot do it. Mental toughness is 100% application. You have to go through adversity. Fighting, sports, competition, rejection, hardships, injuries- they all build it.
This thread is about BOOKS, the other stuff belongs to another thread.

The classic answer: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Then take it up a level: 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.
