On Walden Pond, by Emerson's buddy, Thoraugh (sp?), was much more to the point, practicality wise.

Guns, Germs and Steel by Jarod Diamond - Just so you don't sound like a ****ing idiot whenever a half assed intelligent conversation breaks out. Though this is a big boy read you won't read this in a week.

Laws of Success by Napoleon Hill- His other book gets the fame but this is the bread and butter here. this book changed my life. But it is literally 1200 pages or so long. But it's worth the read.

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand- IMHO the most influential fiction book ever written. I believe every DJ shoudl read this book as I feel that objectivism is DJism.

The Suit: A Machiavellian Approach to Men's Style - This is the style equivalent to the DJ bible. any man who wants to look half ass presentable should own this book.

People, I appreciate all those suggestions. But I sense a lot of resentment in many of your choices.

Manipulated man?
Venus:The Dark Side?
Explanations about how women are stupid?

Don't forget that we are all humans, hairless monkeys with no tails, playing the game of seduction and love.
There's a thin line between trying to become a better person in this terms and wanting to make people suffer. And when you cross that line that's when you become an *sshole.

Was going to suggest 48 Laws of Power and The Manipulated Man. Those are great.

Another book worth a look is: "Yellow Kid" Weil: The Autobiography of America's Master Swindler

So now recommending books makes one resentful?

Books are meant to educate, if someone became well-informed off of a few of them, why would you then consider that resentful?
I was pointing towards the particular choices from the start.
Of course recommending books is great.
But it stops being great when those books talk about how women are evil creatures of hell.

It sounds like these evil books are just support for Pook's view of a feminized culture that has ruined modern man.

The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt Edmund Morris

Reads more like a novel than a biography.

I reread this one every few years.

while much of Teddy was admirable, he was another Hitler in the making, at the end.

There are pretty awesome books to be read at least once.
1.The three mistakes of my life by Chetan Bhagat
2.The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collinns
3.The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
4.The kite runner by Khaled Hossieni

And the list goes on...But these books are worth reading..!

I don't know why any fiction would be on the list of "must read". Fiction is for entertainment only.
