I agree, ignore it. She is probably wondering what you are up to but doesn't want to flat out ask you that. Whenever people I like send me "Merry Xmas" I reply "Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too".. When people I don't care about send it, I ignore 100%.

She may have just sent it to all her contacts, or she's using it as an excuse to get in touch. If you're curious send her "?" as a reply. If she wants to talk she'll say something.

I'm assuming she sent the merry xmas text 8 days ago on christmas?

And you're wondering if you should send a "happy new year" text a day after new years? Seriously...

You need to get out and meet other women; or get a hobby more occupying than women. Continue to ignore her and move on with your life.

Maintain your no contact. If she is willing to reinitiate contact, she will make her intentions more obvious.

Ideally you should ignore.

Buuuuuuuuuuut if you want to turn the knife ask:

"Who's this?"

When/if she responds say absolutely nothing

If you had blocked her this wouldn't haven't happened.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Ignore. It's no longer your business to care about what kind of year she has.

But isn't rude of me not to wish her happy new year because she wished me merry Xmas?
I did wish her merry Xmas back and we small talked for a while then she went silent.

No, you move on for your sake, not for hers. You don't care what she might perceive as "rude," you're moving on for you.
