and got that same as a no. I went to a restaurant today that I had never gone to before, I was talking with my waitress and we found many things we had in common, including hiking. When she brought the check, I told her I had not gone in awhile but was planning on hiking a certain trail next week (that she had mentioned she never had gone on) and would she like to go? She did the ahhh for a few seconds and then said for me to write my number down and put it in with the check.

I realize that I should have countered with the exchange of #'s because the result I got was the same as a no. But oh well in the past I would have eaten at that place once a week for 2 months before getting up to courage to ask her out. At least now I do not have to eat their crappy food once a week for two months:)

It's funny, even though I got shot down, my confidence level is higher.

Right on.

See that wasn't so bad was it? In the future you may want to offer something a bit more laid back for a first date, like going for coffee. Also, remember that waitresses are a bit harder to read because its part of their job to be friendly. Plus, they get TONS of guys hitting on them while they work which creates a bigger b!tch shield. Keep approaching, keep trying...

What you learned was, the more you get rejected the less you get scared of it. What really works to build confidence are cold pick ups.

getting shot down

everyone has to get shot down a couple of times on the quest for numbers getting shot down builds confidence and it makes it like a game which is fun.

dont let the game own you you own the game
