Wow haven't been on in a while around here. How is everyone? well anyways..

I'm joining the army. :D And before I get any further please keep this thread non political or bashing on the war. I know what I'm getting myself into

This is what I have always wanted to do since I was a little kid. Originally I wanted to join the Marines as an 0311 but they didn't accept me cause I have excessive tattoos on my arms.

The army on the other hand is more lenient on tattoos and accepted me. Well anyways I signed up for 11X (infantry) and I ship out this thursday, July 24th. Actually more like wednesday. The army is gonna take me to a hotel and the next morning I will ship out to Fort Benning, Georgia.

I'm pretty excited about this. Again, please do not make this political or bash on the war. Guess I just made this thread to let you all know even though I don't come on as often as I used to anymore.

I hate taking orders, so the army wouldn´t be anything for me.

If that´s what you wanna do though, then good luck bro.

Just try not to get killed or wounded.

I used to be into WWII battle history and reenactment on both sides. Ive watched saving private ryan about 10-15 times already with the sound system so loud its almost like your in the war fighting.

But I've come to realize something that written history is not what it all seems to be. All the World Wars and conflicts are not a natural course of historical human events.

I am so sorry for what has been happening, and I hope there is still time left for consideration of a reality where both sides are being influenced by a hidden entity, in order to advance an agenda.

I would consider this movie before making any further decisions.

The OP definitely asked this to not turn into a political debate and bbestar is trying to. Please show some respect.
As the child of a retired, disabled veteran, I for one am proud of your decision and have nothing but support for you in your willingness to fight to defend my freedom to live in this country.
Good luck and have fun at basic in Benning.

thank you for your dedication and determination to our country to decide on a military career. thank you ahead of time for your hard work and efforts and the life you will live and may even give up as to keep our country safe.
may god bless you and keep you safe.

i think that if they treated the vets better, when they returned home from war and retired when they were old, we would have more of the younger generation enlisting for career.

Whatever floats your boat. I hate the Army, but you have my respect for actually wanting to enlist and not having to.

Man, 19 and you think INFANTRY is good for you??. You obviously haven't thought this through Capt. You have NO IDEA what youre getting yourself into. Just imagine driving on a desert road on a hot day with little Iraqee children running around yelling at you. You're covered on all four sides by other fellow army Humvee...all of a sudden another car drives straight towards you...its an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) and its headed STRAIGHT TOWARD YOU... then BOOM!! Your Gone...either that or the Car in front of you flips 10 feet in the air and your friend ends up getting blown to pieces and dying and you gotta collect his mangled, bloody, gory body and put it in a body bag. Theres fire everywhere and its like your worst nightmare turned to real life.

If you think thats a cool sight to see like you see in the movies...you're obviously too young and dumb.

My friend who just left the army told me it happened to his buddy and he's now haunted for life. Even though you may say you know what youre getting into, I dont think you do my friend. Especially considering youre only 19, the military feeds off of young and dumb kids...they take advantage of you when youre most ignorant.

You could have just signed your death warrant by signing that contract to go Infantry. Choose another MOS bro.

Ken you think I don't know whats up? I know about all the IEDS, VBIEDS, EFPS, and what not. I follow these wars closely. Ever checked out the site Liveleak.org? No? well they show a bunch of **** that goes down in Iraq and afghanistan. I do know what I'm getting into

I scored a 52 on my asvab and had a bunch of jobs I could have choosed but instead I chose infantry because like I have said, its something I always wanted to do. I have a bunch of friends and cousins in the marines, the navy, and a few in the army. Most of them are infantry and corpsman as well and they tell me how it really is from their experiance.

Don't make assumptions that I'm dumb dude. I'm sticking to my guns.

Go at a couple of their trainings and push yourself their into action and experience for yourself. Making your decisions based on other people's influences is the source of most of the unhappiness in the world.
Be careful and have first hand experience.

if theres anything i learned from counter-strike, it's that you should never charge in first.
bait your teammates first, and then go in.
CBS
camp, bait, spray.
haha i dunno if anyone understood that.

Congrats and good luck. From all my friends who have served, the military changes your life, for the better.

You will come back more disciplined than your peers. You might be already. No doubt this experience should be a positive one.

Thanks in advance for your service.

Would be great if you could post occasionally still. Keep in touch.

Ricky
