Instead of worrying about a color the dude may or may not sometimes wear, the real issue is that the OP's b*tchy ex wife is going out of her way to humiliate/embarrass/ and make this man feel bad whilst he is meeting his fatherhood responsibilities.

Im not 100% sure it has been a long time, but i think this guy goes to gay clubs and is affiliated with a lot of homosexuality. His opinion on pink t-shirts may be flawed.
More of a gay-friendly club near a party school. And I tend to wear my pink shirt in other venues, because it sends off the wrong signal at the gay-friendly club.

This is the only pink shirt I own and wear.

I usually wear it out at the oceanfront, where women vacation at and get drunk to slut around. Gives them a great reason to start talking to me, and that usually leads to them touching me.

I get guys trying to tool me, but in the end they just look like losers.

And yes, it's gotten me laid. I'm very masculine and I can pull it off. Not so sure about a pastel pink polo or t-shirt though, that's not my thing.

That shirt plus my leather jacket and a black tie has gotten me some doggy dinner bowl looks at the bar as well.

I agree with Vice that a very masculine guy can pull off pink quite well.

However, if a guy is more of a nice guy (i.e. less masculine vibe) he should stay away from bright colors such as pink. He should wear dark colors like black, grey, etc. to increase his masculine vibe. If you give him bright colors, he'll look gay. I used to love bright red shirts, but they NEVER got me laid. In retrospect, it made me look very nice guy / gay.

Color contrast is a big thing, as well as attitude contrast.

If you have pale skin (like I do in Fall/Winter), avoid wearing light colors, since it's going to bring out the paleness in you. In the summer, when you have darker skin, bright colors contrast well. This is why black people can pull off wearing neon colors and red VERY well.

As for attitude contrast, a more feminine color such as pink on a masculine guy is adding just the right amount of femininity to contrast everything else, and gives girls something to relate to.

www.kinowear.com is a great resource for men's fashion 101.

It is pretty low that your ex would even laugh about such a miniscule thing. She's just trying to get in your head. I think you handled the situation quite nicely!

Nothing wrong with a pink shirt.

A cardigan sounds kind of fruity to me, but I live in an area where you seldom have to wear jumpers or anything like that.

If it fits in with your style, and other chicks who you want to bang (not your ex) don't have the same reaction as your ex did, then go for it.

She is mocking you because it is considered beta to wear a pink cardigan despite what anyone here says. The essence of the Alpha Male is in masculinity. The alpha male lions mane turns black from testosterone, the alpha gorilla in a group has scars from fighting other animals because hes fvcking pissed all the time. A pink cardigan says "OMG i'm so into fashion that I can wear this, and you know what? despite the fact I look like a huge flamer in this i'm so comfortable with my suddenly diminished masculinity I think wearing this is a good idea." The metro lion says "Know what maybe i'm wrong, those black lions manes are so hot this year and i've really been working out my shoulders with this new Serengetti spinning program the cheetas have going so well let me shave it off and show off my hard work." And the gorilla would say "What am I going to do with these unsightly scars? the babboons just opened this laser skin treatment place by the watering hole" Then a real alpha lion walks in, his charcoal black mane stained with the blood of all the pink cardigan wearing homos on the plain. Starts tearing the place up the last thing you remember is seeing is him mount the cute little leopard receptionist you just presented a squirrel to with one of your vertebrae in his mouth carelessly sucking the last piece of your flesh out from one of its crannies. You look down at the poor little leopard thinking what she must endure now and to your surprise she is smiling! All of a sudden you are aware that you cannot move and your vision fades to black. You are bueried in your pink cardigan. He would have wanted it this way..." Masculinity stops at a certain point, it doesnt go full circle to gay again dude...

That last part of your post kinda reminds me of something that someone once said to me - James Dean with one toothpick in the corner of his mouth personifies cool but go ahead and place a second toothpick in the other corner and you've gone full circle to uncool!

I hear you but if wearing pink gets that reaction, makes the opener and gets me laid then how can it be gay? I think it can be attractive to women. But if I put on a matching pair of pink jeans then I'd tip the balance over to the gay side I'm sure :)

Pink is a popular colour amongst many men, especially the UK. I see men walking around in pink ties, pink shirts, pink t-shirts, pink jumpers. It's no big deal. I don't wear pink because I don't like pink, but there is nothing homosexual about a man wearing the colour pink.

I dunno, honestly I don't see anything technically wrong with wearing it. I mean i'm sure Hugh Heffner could wear them all day. I know that if I put one on I would stick out like a sore thumb. A big pink sore thumb with a stripe... I guess it just depends on your culture. Heck I hear guys wear capris in Europe, wear them over here and it's a statement on your sexuality. I guess there are just certain items of clothing you can only wear under certain conditions. I have a pair of expensive gator skin boots I love to wear, but I wont wear them under certain conditions. Trip to bar with my friends (sure). First date with a Cuban chick to a sushi bar i'll go a little more conservative. If she were a country music loving blondie I might wear them. If I know I am going to be around people I don't really know/like i'll dress more conservative so i'm not "that guy", otherwise i'll allow myself a little more room for expression. I dress for success, if I feel my choice of clothing is not going to help me achieve the desired results i'll change it up. I might have anticipated the wife saying something stupid and with it being obviously something I don't normally wear would have chosen something different that day. Yeah it may seem lame to have to change your wardrobe for a particular person. But in the end your the only one that knows what you did and by paying a little more attention you could have saved yourself some embarassment and maybe gained a little respect in the process. In the end the only one that is wrong is your ex wife for being a b1tch. But I guess that's why she is your ex right?

What part of the UK are you in?! The only guys I ever see wearing pink are most definetly gay!

It might have been the manly thing to wear pink back in the 1920's (blue for the girls) but things have changed. Even then, the guys wouldn't be seen wearing blue as it was considered feminine. The same applies here.....at least I thought it did.

It is the implied suggestion that it is feminine that is the issue.

Too much 'sex in the city' and not enough 'Rambo' in this thread. Clint Eastwood never wore pink.

Wearing a pink shirt every two days is going overboard. I'm sorry guys but why do you wear pink shirts. Is it cuz you think you're different so you can pull it off? I think it's just gay, or a pathetic cry for attention.
Okay? Good for you. Are you trying to pick up dudes or something? Why do you care so much if other guys "look gay?" Quit being a hater.

To OP. Dude, I really hope you can move on. This type of comment would roll right off the shoulders of a truly confident man. Why? Because he KNOWS she was just doing it because she is a resentful, stupid b1tch.

That is all.
