2024 YR4 discovered December 27, 2024

In 7 years, chances are big for an impact.

Size is between 7 and 50 megatones. If impacted on ocean, tsunamis up to 25 meters (80 feet) high. It's a danger for regional catastrphy.

Size of asteroid is still being determined. If it's more than 15 meters, mission will be send to try to devert its orbit. If less, brace for impact.

Its not very big. If it landed at the worst spot in the ocean to effect the coast of a major city (unlikely) or directly hits hits a major city (extremely unlikely) that would be bad, sure. But the odds of it even hitting the Earth at all seem to be fairly low and even lower it will hit a critical area. So in all likelihood it will miss or land in the middle of nowhere and have minimal impact.

It's a shame it isn't hitting now, if it landed in the pacific near CA it sure would stop the wildfires.

It don't even have to land or hit anything. It can just blow up in the air and cause mass casualties and destruction.
Let's look at Meteor Crater in AZ for comparison. From NASA:

"Meteor Crater measures 0.75 miles (1.2 kilometers) across and about 600 feet (180 meters) deep. The size of the asteroid that produced the impact is uncertain—likely in the range of 100 to 170 feet (30 to 50 meters) across—but it had to be large enough to excavate 175 million metric tons of rock. "

Here we're talking a meteor that seems to be a fraction of this size - even if it remains intact it wouldn't be a particularly powerful impact that could level a major city. If it splits apart, it's still dangerous, but certainly not enough to do any major damage. And again this is assuming it, or the fragments, will even land somewhere relevant in the first place and not some random place of insignificance, which makes up the majority of the Earth's surface.

I think it's cool this is bringing interest to space and awareness of it's dangers, but I'm 99% certain this is going to lead to pointless fear mongering.

Funny how now that Trump is in office again all the sudden, Eggs are scarce, than ever like toilet paper like when in covid, , planes are crashing "move than ever" and an asteroid will hit the earth in 7 years; the brilliant minds couldn't have discovered it 2 years ago or 1.5 year, or even 1 year ago, the imagine was crystal clear in the telescope when Trump got in office. People have become so gullible, that's is upsetting to see.

People instead of talking about all the corruption this government has had, now that they're doing audits, finding fraud in the social security, USAID and others agencies who will be investigated like NASA which was the one who published it, everyone is seeing the fraud but nobody talks about that. It sure looks like plan to drive attention away.

Are you people bots? Hello? Am I alone in this simulation?

It's okay, President Musk is already working to 'fix' things-like correcting that free speech he claims to defend.

There is energy thing, which is size & speed related. Size is good, but size can be smaller and speed could be faster, for the same effect. Here is a good video I watched.

JMG is great; ill check his video out

And we wondered why Georgia turned blue.

Oh, it was because the federal government was spending millions on ads

What a joke "our democracy" is

The media's power lies in their abililty to control the narrative. Once Musk bought twitter, it changed everything. Not only does the media not control the narrative, it signaled that our oligarchs were tired of being controlled by our shadow government. Hence, all the tech billionaires at Trump's inauguration.

It's all by design.

I've been a Trump guy since 2015. Initially, it was because he had a set of nuts, demolished the Republican party and brought forth liberal tears. Granted, he didn't ultimately accomplish much in his first term...

...Roe v Wade was huge, though! And it showed how ineffectual Republicans are. They're the conservative party, that hasn't managed to conserve anything. He's accomplished more in 1 month than any "conservative" has in history lol.

@taiyuu_otoko i'm glad you're here to share this with. I only wish Danger and Tits were here, too.
