martial arts fall into two categories: those that expend so much energy they'll lean you out, and those that don't. neither type will build significant muscle by itself. but you're missing the point. growth is about eating.

Yeap, I've been there with muay thai! Even the trainers ain't that big if they don't work out on weights or something ! A martial art will give you the "experience" on how to move your body and certainly hit someone but it won't help your body grow that much! For example my trainer wanted me to run, have some push ups and some other staff for like a half hour! Ok, that's not working your body out!
