Like most men out there, i too have a hairy ape-like face. My eyebrows are very THICK and bushy and i was thinking about having them done, but i just had a few questions:

1)How many of you get ur eyebrows done? Im assuming its painful...
2)How long does it take?
3)Around how much does ur cost?
4)How often do you do it?
5)Is there a way u can do it by urself after u have it done once?
thanks

And for those of you wondering why; i think i would look alot better if i groomed my self a bit more.

If you got a hairy ass face, keep shaving.
As for your eyebrows...
1. I do, its painful the first few times but like most things once you get used to it, its o.k.
2. It takes 10 minutes.
3. R40 where I come from.
4. Erm, About once every 3 months.
5. Dont do it by yourself, if you going to wax your legs, feet, body, that could be done by yourself or by someone you know. But get your eyebrows professionally done.

1) I do it. All my friends do it.

2) 5 minutes. Not long at all.

3) 8 dollars for me. Shouldn't be much more than that (my REAL metro friend pays like 25, but that's cause he goes to some primo spot in NYC to get it done. He also likes to spend more than he has and it's gonna get him in real trouble in the future)

4) Whenever I get a hair cut. So like once every two - three weeks

5) Well, you can try to tweeze or something as they grow back. I never really cared enough for the upkeep.

Alexi

PS - As to the people who give you sh1t on this forum for it (which some will), ignore it. It's a forum. So it's expected. Plus, noone really will ever know if you went through with it or not, nor do any of them ACTUALLY care. Cause it's a forum. I know I couldn't care less about what people do or don't do here.

sounds a little on the ghey side but it they are that bad - if you got a serious unibrow happining handle your buisness and clean it up

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

christz: From that comment I know 1 thing about you, you not knowledable therefore not powerful therefore you probably dont model cos you have NO CLUE about waxes.
Their are female waxes and male.
Male waxes look like male waxes and female look like female. Its that simple, they dont give you a strip for a male, they neaten it up, make it look less bushy etc...

Ice: Phone book with them and if you dont have their number, rock up like the confident person you are and ask for a eyebrow wax for a male.

Moved to Anything Else...

1) If you think it's painful, you're a wus.
2) About 10-15 minutes.
3) About $10-12.
4) Every other month or so...
5) Sure, buy a do-it-yourself waxing kit. I really wouldn't recommend it though, way too easy to mess things up.

Icy, dont listen to christz, he is ignorant and hasnt a clue.
christz: You didnt need to tell me you not a model, i figured that out reading your first post. I never said because you not a model you dont know about eyebrow waxing. I said you are not powerful in the sense you have no knowledge of it and if you dont have a clue about it, Dont comment on it, its that simple. Its like in soccer , a goalkeeper is selected to save the ball he isnt selected to score the goals, stick to what you know and comment on what you know. Dont try get smart buddy, let me break it up for you..
Female Wax: thinning of eyebrow, most of the eyebrow goes, a solid shape.
Male Wax: neatening up of the eyebrows, no more unibrow, give the eyebrows some form of shape, its not a THIN line and nor does the end result look remotely gay or femine. It looks clean and much better.

What I would do is talk to some buddies of yours and bring it up in casual conversation. "Dude. You get your eyebrows waxed?" If the flip out and say no, you can always play it off and say something like, "Yeah. I just been seeing it more and more. What's up with that?"

Ask someone that you LIKE the way their eyebrows are, and if they say yes, ask them where they got it done. And with who. And go there.

Otherwise, I just remind the person doing the waxing about fifteen times (over the phone, in person, right before she applies the wax, etc.) 'not to make them too girly.'

every morning i pluck my eyebrows.. it takes about 2 minutes, i just pull out any hairs that i can see coming up (normally about 6) every week or 2 i'll have a longer pluck, 10 minutes, to tidy up.
doesn't hurt at all. doesn't take time, and by always getting the tiny hairs no ones ever going to know u do it.

Depends on the style. Who does the wax, how it fits your face, etc. etc. I mean, when you think about it, pretty much EVERY guy you see on TV has waxed or tweezed eyebrows. From news reporters, to comedy series actors, to (especially) drama and soap stars. But they have them done in such a way that it actually looks natural. Just that you don't NOTICE it's waxed because even though it's neat, it's not TOO neat.

Get it?

Okay...
Eyebrow waxing for men? I have honestly never heard of that!
I do know however that women like men with pronounced eyebrows, as it makes a man look much more masculine. The only things they don't like are unibrows.
Why are you guys making your eyebrows smaller?

I get my eyebrows done everytime I get a haircut (which is about every 6-8 weeks) I am half Italian and naturally hairy. My eyebrows get pretty bushy and out of control....Think Eugene Levy's character Mr. Cornbluff from Splash...haha.

It takes about 7-10 minutes, costs around $8-12 and is a little painful. This is naturally so, since they are ripping hair out of your skin. The good points besides better looking eyebrows are, usually a cute chick is the one working on them.
