Was Tyler Durden intentionally made out to be the villain in The Game?

Was that some arrangement himself and Style came to, in order to make a better story by having the dramatising effect of the villain (Tyler)?

In Blueprint, Tyler comes across as a very cool guy.

In the Game, he came across as a legitimately borderline sociopath and douchebag par excellence.

I don't know what to make of him.

Well sociopaths do wear a mask, so perhaps what was said of him in 'The Game' (I don't know what was said, I haven't read it) is indeed true.

Stop taking a marketers words for truth. I'd be more concerned about what kind of douchebag Style has to be to write that kind of stuff, than the sh!t HE wrote through HIS POV about a competitor.

Don't get caught up in PUA drama.

Basically, here's what tyler did.

He took a bootcamp with mystery's company "Social Dynamics"

He got good and was mysteries wing for a while.

Then, he went off and started his own company, "Real Social Dynamics"

Now he lives in Hawaii with his hot gf.

You be the judge.

Good point. Style did say some douchey things, e.g. about the attractiveness and charisma (or lack thereof) of some of the gurus.

It's literature, written by someone who has his own ideas and conceptions in his mind. When he writes (or anyone, for that matter), he leaves a lot of his ideology on paper.

So, should you believe mr. Strauss? A little, don't shallow whole. Take it with some salt.

I think most PUA's are douches anyways (so far most PUA'a I met were just a bunch of scrawny geeks who feel on top of the world by acting like dictators because of this new found power).

I am sure there was alot of hatered and jealousy towards Tyler Durdan by Styles because that is what you get when you put geeks with inflated egos under one roof and they all compete with each other to be the top dog.

You should read Nei's other book "Emergency", he actually made himself more of a man in this book then "The Game".

Is this book worth getting?
I would say yes, its a fun read. But if youre kind of iffy about spending $25 on it...go to the public library and check it out for free.
