So I went on a first date with this girl. Nothing happened, just a lunch date, so I asked if she wanted to go to a bar this weekend. She asks if her friends are invited too, so I suggested that she come for a drink with me first and then meet her friends after. She takes a while to respond and then suggests ice-skating with her friends...

Obviously I don't want to go out with her friends. It seems like she just wants to be friends, but I wasn't getting that vibe last week... The problem is, we are both only really free at weekends and maybe she doesn't want to bail on her friends. Getting mixed messages... I'm thinking that ice-skating is not an option.

Shes not interested. She ignores your drinks idea and changes the whole venue just to be clear. Go ice-skating, just ignore her completely, enjoy yourself and target one of her friends instead.

Next time a woman asks "are my friends invited too?" to what is a plain date invitation, tell them "gee, I don't know, are your friends cool or are they socially retarded like you?"

I've been in your exact situation. She is absolutely not interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you. Pull the plug and move on, this one's done.

Sorry man.

@dasein: Hahaha, that's brilliant, I gotta remember that one.

Too soon for what?

It's like she doesn't want to go out with me but she's very keen for me to go out with her and her friends...

Maybe I've missed something, but there is nothing you've written here telling me that it's worth seeing her again.

Once I've asked a girl out for lunch, and she said that she already had plans with 2 friends of her, and asked me if I wanna join.

Your typical power shift situation. Since I had nothing better to do I accepted it, and called a friend of mine to join us, just for her to know she was not the owner of the interaction to come!
During the whole lunch I was very flirty with her friends, kinoing and all that crap and did not give her a min of my time. I'd also asked her friends number just to keep things dramatic.

Needless to say what happened next. But case you did not get it, I've hooked up with the original girl and now she became a very tamed plate!

Again, I agree with LiveFreeX, that dude is on spot again.
Instead of pulling lame sh*t as bailing, because that would be the move of a butthurt pvssy, go there, enjoy the ride, enjoy her friends and don't give her a minute of your time.

She is only pulling lame sh*t as this because she believes that you are already beaten, and she won!

Always be the prize!

Alright, I guess this is the perfect thread for me to debunk a myth. I have a friend (more acquaintance) who has a girl friend. Even introduced to his GF and she was on my sports team for a while (even though he wasn't on said team). Anyway, he keeps telling me that the first time you meet a girl that you should never invite her out alone because it makes it seem like a date and that puts pressure on her etc. He says instead to casually invite her out to meet you up in a group that you are meeting up with. He says worst case scenario if you have to invite her out alone you should invite her to something casual like grocery shopping because it's different and doesn't seem quite formal like a date. So, I can sort of see his point but it kind of goes against everything I've heard here. What do you guys think?

As far as what the OP posted. I would think she isn't interested especially if she wasn't open to the idea of us spending the first part of the time together before going to meet with her friends. Sometimes too when a girl wants you to meet her friends. I think she's interested and might want them to meet you so she can get their opinion of you later. You situation is kinda interesting because she went out with you alone the first time but then there was no kino between you guys. So, this is sorta up in the air. The verdict is out. Although, popular notion says if she invites you out with her friends she isn't interested.

If you want to bang the girl, always date her alone. If she doesn't want to date alone, you have your answer. Do not meet friends until the bang.
