Never ever fight unless you are forced into it. Just gonna get hurt, or hurt someone else. Somebody may just plain deserve it, but bite your tongue and be the better man.

There are a few things in life worth fighting about, but you typically don't encounter them drunk at a club or party.

It's stupid, usually the people looking to start a fight with you are losers that are in a ****ty mood because girls don't want them, or they have low self esteem and want to prove they're better than somebody by beating them up. Why encourage that?

There's no good outcome for a street fight. If you're an amazing fighter, you will beat the **** out of him without getting hurt yourself, congrats. And then you'll either be charged/sued/arrested or he'll pull out a gun, or find you when he's with a lot of buddies.

If you're both similarly skilled, you'll just both take a lot of physical damage. Even a silly little fist fight can cost you teeth, and those don't grow back.

And if you suck at fighting, well you'll just get your ass kicked.

Besides, I know sometimes people really are just looking for a fight, but at the same time in 4 years of clubbing/partying, nobody has yet tried to start a fight with me. I work out some, but I'm hardly what you would call very intimidating. The secret is, I'm not a douche to random people for no reason.

So, if people are always trying to fight you, maybe see if there's a reason why they want to fight YOU.
This guy knows what he's talking about. Avoiding fights with random people is generally a good idea, because you just don't know who your dealing with.

You really want to run the risk to get stabbed or get beaten up badly because of your ego? There are a lot of thugs walking around who don't give a sh*t and will stomp you in the face and on your head when you're on the ground. People get scarred for life or killed every week because of dumb ass drunk fights.

And if YOU are the one doing the ass whooping, you have a big risk to get charged because you hurt someone for life (even if he deserved it). If you knock someone to the ground and he hits his head on the concrete, you can f*cking kill a guy or put him in a wheel chair.

If you get into a street fight, you're risking jail time, felony charges, getting very seriously hurt, or even getting killed. So yes, most of the time it is better to walk, or even run, away.

There's always a reason people want to fight you, even if you have no background with them at all. They're jealous of you. There are a lot of underachieving and frustrated guys out there now, and when they get drunk, the sh!tty thoughts they have about themselves are easily transferred to YOU.

Remember, everyone pities the weak, but jealousy you have to earn. So if you have indeed earned the jealousy of another, be ready to confront it. Jealous people never look INWARD to fix their problems, they'd rather blame the way they feel about themselves on a stranger.
I'm experiencing this too lately. Random guys who want to fight me for no apparent reason. And yes, this is always when I'm hanging around girls. It's actually pretty easy most of the time to defuse it. It usually ends up with the guy actually being totally cool with me. I just be friendly, chill and open with them, but I display the body language of someone who isn't intimidated at all. It's all about having a more powerful frame.

Not so funny story--

There was a guy I went to college with that died as a result of a sucker-punch.
It started off like most of these things do, with some trash-talk on a thursday night. Later that night he was walking home with a couple buddies, hammered, and the guys he got into it with earlier followed him back. There was a group of them. They tried to start a real fight but this kid wouldn't do it; he was over it. So he turned around and the guy sucker-punched him on his temple...kid fell down, hit his head on the curb. Got a subdural hematoma, fell into a coma, and died from complications about a week later. It was inoperable.

The kid who died was 22, about to graduate, and played on the baseball team. Had his whole life ahead of him. Really shook up the school, it was a big deal. The guy who hit him is in jail as far as i know, for manslaughter. A life lost and a life ruined, all over some smack talk.
