wait for her or not

yo guys
as of today schools / colleges (year 11 & 12) have a 2 week break. There is a girl on my bus (I went to playgroup with her when i was ~4 years old !) and she's got a friend that i've been kinda interested in but only recently. we've made eye contact a few times anywho, after i got off the bus yesterday I asked her friend who goes on my bus, about this girl. I described her and she goes "oh yea thats .....". So i go oh ok cool, then her friend offered me her number but I said nah... u have my number? and she said yea and she msgd her friend and told her about me last night, so last night I got a message from her friend, we just txt'd about what subjects, where she lives, hobbies etc.
She doesnt know who I am but her friend would have described her to me lol so it felt kinda awkward, so my question is, do I wait for her to txt me tonight/in a few days, or do I txt her? (It might make me seem desperate). Also, after i find out abit more about her, should I ask her if she wants to catch up in town and get lunch and just chill?

I think that the more you msg her the harder it will be to date her. Just call her and ask her out ie don't ask her out with sms. my 2cents.

Last night we were txting about what we are going to do tomorrow (today) and then i said something followed by "do you have any plans for the 2nd week of the holidays, name!?"

And she never sent a txt back :<

What do you guys think, am I being too worried about it all, should I just wait for her to txt me or should i txt her tonight or even call her? D:!~
