Here's an article that references a study showing that women who are virgins when they are married are less likely to get divorced. The study is a bit old (1988) but I believe it is consistent with other similar studies that have been conducted.

I was curious what the guys here would say about this, since the idea of a girl saving herself for marriage is pretty much against SoSuave principles.
Personally, I wouldn't know where to begin to find a virgin these days.

If you're looking for a virgin, you'd best find one from a culture in which pre-marital sex is still deeply frowned upon. In some Eastern cultures, this is still the norm. In Indian, Middle Eastern and various Islam-based cultures, it is still considered a huge disgrace for a woman to not be a virgin on her wedding (though not so much the men!)

In fact in some Arab cultures, it is so disgraceful that many Arab women in European countries such as France get surgery done to restore their hymens.

Interestingly enough, divorce rates are still very low in these societies. This is in part because there is still a lot of stigma against divorcees (especially divorcee women).

The Indian scientists in my lab talk about this with me all time. The huge contrast in divorce rates between India and America..most cite the fact that the girls they married in India (usually semi arranged) were virgins. And seeing the super rigid nature of Indian society I believe them. They show me articles where women in rural India even suspected of hoeing around are beat up by their brothers, sisters, AND mothers. Thats the thing I think...the FEMALES of the society BELIEVE in family. Its a family shame issue they said. I don't think we have shame in America I tell them In India women have very few rights against their husbands and though there is divorce and alimony in urban areas few men pay because the Indian courts do not rigidly enforce them.

What's funny, is that we have another thread going on how many gal's we've slept with...we wouldn't have numbers like 50, 80, 100...if we were like India. We'd have numbers like 1, 2, 4...

While it's great to think about settling down with a virgin, for a lot of us, that's just not the route we want to take, to be honest.

I know one who is Still a virgin at 28, not bad at all looking, but there's a REASON *medical mainly. I know many see this as "hypocritical", I however do not for the following reasons.

1. Men are men, women are women. Men's default is to value women on their lack of promiscuity. Women as a whole are far less likely to care about their man's sexual history.
2. If a man "chose" to stay a virgin nowadays, it would gain him nothing. He still would not get a virgin for a wife. Thus, comparing the two makes little sense.

If a female announces she's a virgin, she gets hundreds of offers.

Tell people you're a virgin as a guy and see how many offers you get. Offers from other guys don't count lol.

That is true.

Even a casual glance at history shows physical sex to be as readily available as a joint of meat at a roadside tavern (quality of meat varying greatly. This I think is key. Sex was a right that ALL men could avail themselves of with ease.

Somehow we have forgotten this.

The price of sex has become astronomically high even for the tom bradys of the world (did you see the ponytail he had for a while), its time we as men did something to reduce its cost. Legalized, regulated, amsterdam style prostitution is the first step. (next we dismantle no fault divorce).

There are stats out there that say roughly the more chaste a bride is, the better chance the marriage will last. Highest was virgin brides around 75%, 60something% was women who only screwed their future husbands. Went downhill quick from there.

My biggest concern with a virgin would be her having the desire later on to go out and play the field. Second to that would be that she turns out not to have a great sex drive, but then again sex before marriage is no guarantee of bountiful sex inside marriage.
