Violent world

Watched a lecture a while ago. The lecturer mentioned that there were 12 men put on a remote island and two females. Cannot remember which lecture this was..but I've always remembered it.

The moral of him telling us this, is that men will always fight and compete over women.

Apparently things started fine, but then the men started killing each other and plotting against each other. I think In the end only one man and two women remained.

I read a post on Facebook today. The post was stating "why do we have to fight and argue over land all the time, why cannot the world be a place where people just relax in inflatable rings in the sea drinking pint coladas and having a laugh listening to relaxing music.

Maybe peaceful scenario isn't reachable considering what happened to the men on the remote island. After all, jordan peterson said that there will always be fighting, a hierarchy. We have our tribes and we have our leaders. Our domain. A hierarchical structure. Without order, imagine the chaos.

Theres always competition. That doesnt mean there has to be fighting and killing, atleast not in every scenario or situation. We as humans have had excess fighting and killing for a few thousand years now. It can also swing the other way and maybe we get a period of very little fighting and violence.

There is also Lord of the Flies, there are no women in that book and they still end up killing each other. If there are limited resources or no rule of law, the strong will prey on the weak. This is true for all creatures, animal or human.

People who think we can all just get along are weaklings living in a world of delusion and probably think that food gets to the supermarket by magic.

I've met a few people in my life that I wouldn't want to be around if things went to hell.

Fighting and killing is the natural state of man. The purpose of civilization is to keep those behaviours in check through a system of punishments and rewards. It works, to an extent.

You are right...an obscure relative of mine was a Scottish Fisherman,during the last War his Trawler sailed with a big convoy to Russia,hoping to pick up survivors from any disasters,the convoy was attacked by a German Battleship and scattered,the upshot being that their little ship was stuck in the ice for many months...On being awarded the George Cross by the Old King himself,he said that he definitely deserved it,not for facing the Luftrwaffe and the Submarines but for having to keep order amongst his crew who got so irritable with each other that there were many attempted murders.

It's been this way since the beginning of time. Humans cannot peacefully co-exist. There will always be a group who sees the weakness of those peaceful societies and attempts to take them over.

No matter how much of a bad ass you think you are you will quickly find out someone else is more badass soon enough when you go looking for trouble.

Good attitude to have. I've heard alot of people recently talking about how embracing your darkness will help you survive and prosper in such a toxic world. Carl jung wrote about it a lot.
