I have never been so disappointed in my life as when I realized that our generation (90's kids) encircles their life, self esteem, and personal growth around video games.

Granted, I was a gamer kid, yeah. Sh!t, man I learned how to read better because of Runescape!

It's true, video games are fun, but I put that sh!t down at like age 13.

I don't ever see anybody who gets a 30:1 kill:death ratio on some video game also achieve his dreams.

Yeess, I know, there are major leagues for these simpleton contraptions, but dude... are they really worth it?
Every single story I have heard from any of my gamer buds has had to do with girls they don't want, being rejected by good looking girls, being unable to achieve their dreams, etc.

First off, I wish to rhetorically ask... why do you think you're not a good athlete if you come home from practice and play Call of Duty?
Why do you think you're not a good actor if you come home from rehearsal and play Fallout?
Why do you think you're not a talented musican if you come home from lessons and sit and watch Family Guy?

Entertainment is killing our generation. Television is an abomination. Video games are a sin.

Any thoughts, gentlemen?

I don't think "video games are a sin". I think it's one form of entertainment and like with anything, too much can be bad.

You can spend your nights reading books, learn new things, culture yourself. At the end of the day, you're still spending your nights vag-less.

Anything you overkill is a bad thing.

I'm 24 and love playing my madden and uncharted games. I don't play them everyday, and it doesn't impact my social life; so it's not a big deal.

i gave that **** up just before diablo 3 came out. it's just a waste of time. think of all the hours spent gaming you could be working on yourself. i would be a BOSS if i took all the hours i spent playing games and put it into PUA

i never understood this logic. so, you never relax with something you just purely enjoy? not everything you do has to be about bettering yourself, chilling out is healthy. dont blame videogames and tv for peoples laziness, if those didn't exist people would be lazy cuz of other things. its not the activity, its the individual's personality doing the harm.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I used to think videogames were a form of an entertainment too, but looking back videogames doesn't contribute too much. I think its better to find more productive hobbies. One of the hobbies I've been using to replace it is weightliftingand I'm glad.

I never really got into video games either. I did play them a little bit which was fun but lost interest after a while. I think now there are much better things to do than play games.

everyone has their vices.

halt he people int his thread that don't' play video games would not hesitate to go out on a Friday night and spend 40 bucks at an overpriced night club.

the other half who swear they don't watch TV would sit there like a lap dog if a hb9 came over their house and wanted to watch celebrity apprentice

there is nothing ahardntly wrong with video games no more than TV or going out or drinking or whatever it is you like to do. Sounds like feminist rubbish shaming men's hobbies.

do what makes you happy. you like video games, play them but keep your priorities in order.
