I'm curious of the effect or value that sex has in a relationship for women. What got me thinking about this was my current relationship (LD - mLTR - I see other women, she doesn't see others) and Wyld's post about transitioning to LTR's.

So where does sex lie in the priorities of a relationship for women. I know feeling loved is a factor. I also know that being good in bed, will dramatically increase IL in a new relationship. But where does it fit in, in the big picture of things in a relationship. Especially as the relationship transitions to a committed relationship.

What are some of the other determining factors in a relationship for a women? What do they look for? I know security is a big one when measuring a man up as a potential husband. List your ideas and where you think they rank for women!

If I were to generalize, I would say:

1. Affection/love
2. Security
3. Acceptance/support
4. Fun and spontaneity
5. Sex

Of course, all women are different and their priorities change throughout their life.

If there is any doubt as to the importance women place on sex, just try to deprive your girlfriend of it for awhile. Guarantee that if you don't give it to her she will proceed to get it from somewhere!

Well I don't know the kind of girl you mean, but I don't agree.

If I would stop having sex with my gf, she would start to think I'm having sex with somebody else.

ON topic:
sex would be one of the lower priorities for most of the girls, but this can change.

It's not because they don't need sex, that you don't need it. I used to have a lot of arguments about this with my gf, but it eventually stopped.

women need affection, men need sex. Give them affection, tell her you want you sex. She don't get this? Dump her, we don't need egoists.

peace.

What the hell are you talking about? Never have I seen a greater AFC who not only admits to, but lavishes attention on girls to try and supplicate and beg for sex. Where has it gotten you thus far? You're going to give advice to a Brother who has some of the most insightful and pragmatic posts of anyone here?

I'm quite certain there is an extension cord to reach the next "girl " you tell to have sex with you . . . Make sure you're not near running water though or she'll short out and you'll be out the juli Ashton vibrating loveslave and $200 you worked so hard for.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

Ok ok calm down.

There's a difference between:
-pointing out to your gf (not a girl, but your gf) that you need sex in a relationship
-begging for sex.

Do you think talking about your needs as a man to a woman equals to begging?

Do you think that treating a girl by giving her her needs (love affection) in a reasonable way to be AFC?

peace.

I'm surprised no one has popped off with this one yet:

"Women want sex as much as (or more than) Men."

Let me state for the record that as often as i see this posted time and again, I don't buy this for a second. It's a physical impossibility. Men produce 50 times the amount of testosterone women do. Trust, men want sex far beyond any requirement women have. Women at their highest peak in their ovulatory cycle don't want sex in the same degree as men.

my gf wants sex a lot, i mean ALOT...i can barely keep up with her, maybe it's because i'm outta shape....or not producing enough testosterone....

If by 'needs' you mean sex, then yes. No woman wants to be overtly communicated to by a man that she isn't meeting his sexual requirements. This is a supreme confession of a lack of confidence in so much as it confirms her as his only source of intimacy. Far more effective is covertly implying that she isn't fulfilling your expectations of her in a sexual role as this is a woman's prefered method of communicating.

Better to ask forgiveness than beg permission.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

I disagree. The women i talked to at that point say they need it all the time and its on their mind every 5 seconds.

It's not that women don't 'need' sex, they just don't 'need' it to the degree men do.

If you were to ask a woman about her sexual requirements when she's at her ovulatory peak, you'll get a completely different answer than when she is at the lowest point of her cycle. Alternately, you could ask a woman at different times in her life about these same requirements and your answers will vary. Not so with men, we'll take it where and when it's available for as long as it is over the course of a lifetime.

exactly.

I hate women controlling men using sex. Women have needs, men have theirs. Cut the feminist crap.

In a real relationship, both sides will have to do things they don't like. If she can't fulfill your needs, she's no good.

Not fulfilling a girl needs, while getting your needs as a man is acting like an immature & egocentric jerk.

And I'm talking about a relationship, not first dates/ONS!

Finally someone speaks out against that stupid myth. Ive been saying that is b.s. ever since I heard that lie. I have never, EVER been with a girl who wanted sex as much as I do, or even half as much for that matter. Why do people think men initiate sex most of the time?

Actually Rollo, not to nitpick, but adult males on average produce 17 times more testosterone (serum levels) than do adult females. But nonetheless it is a significant difference.

I stand corrected (after looking this up). That's what I get for reading POOK I suppose

Still a significant difference.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

That's because frequent sex that results in ejaculation causes testosterone levels to rise significantly. Not immediately, but you are basically creating a demand for it.

Anyone else have a general hierarchy of needs for a woman in a relationship? Women definitely need sex. Though they probably don't need it as much as men, does everyone believe it would land in a woman's top 5 needs in a relationship?

Now that we've established women don't need sex to the same degree as men, lets focus on the original concept. How big of a factor is sex for women?

I guess one of my underlying question is, will great sex overpower other factors?

ps I'm glad we've gotten ridden of the myth that women want it just as much as men. Thats' not to say, that women can't have a healthy sexual appetite.

this goes totally against the article you linked about the importance of the man's sexual value being about 70% for women in a relationship. or do you mean it as they dont want sex as often as men but it's still the most important thing(quality sex) for a (young) woman in a relationship?

If a woman doesn't want more sex than you then you aren't doing it well enough.

You can have all the inner game in the world, but fail to make her come, come, COME!! and you are a paper tiger.

There's a couple of good threads about being a good f*ck here somewhere, but if you needed telling, the key is dominance. And a big **** comes in handy. Or preferably, mouthy.
