I'm having some difficulties developing and understanding negs could someone provide examples.

From what I have been reading on the board it seems often that instead of negging a girl they end up insulting her instead. There seems to be alot of confusion in this area.

Also is there a difference between a "neg" and a "disqualifier"?

  • A neg shouldn't sound like an insult. It should be like a back-handed compliment, like: "Nice dress, I think I saw you wearing it at another club." And its to lower her arrogance.
  • *Negs that are insulting* are reportedly not as effective, but if you DO use one of these make sure to be playful about it. Playful- so that she gives you one of those girly hits and says "Oh shut up! :)"
  • Anyway, a neg falls under the category of a disqualifier. A disqualifier simply conveys the message "I'm not hitting on you". Because a lot of girls ESPECIALLY HOT ONES will assume you're hitting on them just for asking for the freakin' time! And raise the ***** shield. That's why you say something like "I'm not a nice guy who buys flowers and all that" so she'll think, 'He's not trying to impress me!'
  • Style likes to use "If I wasn't gay I'd go for you" but I think thats a bit extreme for me! :)

Oh good job DJ! I really appreciate the info. and the tips of not going overboard with it but keeping it playful.

I really like your line: "Nice dress, I think I saw you wearing it at another club." :p

Whats your assesment of this: "Hey I like your hair. ....(pause)... what did you use Javax bleach?"

That is technically a neg-hit, but improper delivery will offend her. One that I used was "Hey, that's a nice wooly purse, did your grandma knit that?"

The more innocent your delivery, the better you're going to pull it off. Asking her if she bleached her hair with javex isn't really that innocent. A better neg-hit would be, "Hey I like your hair. I personally like blondes / brunettes / redheads myself (stating the opposite of what she is)

Come on guys, its not rocket science. A neg is to show that you are not impressed by her looks, not to insult them.

Neg: You smell good, my puppy has almost the exact same smell.

Insult: I think you smell like dog.

The thing with Mystery's dvd series is that he gives so few examples of negs.

Are there more examples of negs that one could use?

Just buy the VAH, Dude. Post like this should be in ''the worst of '' section in mysterys forum.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
