:moon: Thats what happened. Definitely lame event.

They stopped the fight too soon….Shamrock could have taken more punishment.

As for Arlovski and Sylvia - that really sucked. I don’t know why Arlovski didn’t take him down. He couldn’t get at him otherwise, that paluka Sylvia is jut too big.

But - fully satisfying is the prospective fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Lidell in November. That’s freaking awesome. Do you guys think Chuck was expecting that? Dana White, such a drama queen, in the way he had that announced. He’s so WWF.

They showed a clip tonight of a past fight where Couture had Ortiz on the ground and he spanked his as$. I guess that was the highlight of the evening for me. Couture is one classy dude.

Ortiz would have won anyway, but that was a weak ref stoppage. At least wait til there is some damage done.

As for the heavyweight champ fight, it coulda gone either way...boring all around. I wanted Arlovski to win, but he didnt do much to push it his way. Im glad I went to a bar to watch instead of shelling out the dough.

So Sylvia won? how?

Tito basically did what? Took that old **** Shamrock down?

Should I really tell you everything? I don’t want to spoil it for you before you see it. But on the other hand, I guess there’s not much to spoil…

Alright. The fight didn’t last long. Shamrock was swinging going in, but Tito took him down, got through his guard, and pushed him into the cage - like Tito typically does.

From thereon, he gave him about 4 fast elbows in a row…and then the ref stopped it. They said Shamrock wasn’t intelligently defending himself. But it was awfully fast to decide that, I think. Lots of boos for Tito, and he said that he would be willing to fight him again.

The question pending was….with this win, would Tito be fighting Lidell next? And that’s when Wanderlei stepped into the octagon, to challenge Lidell to a fight….which he accepted...in November. (This will happen if Lidell wins his next upcoming fight).

As for Arlovski and Sylvia…they went four rounds of boxing. Not a lot of action, they were rather cautious of eachother. Arlovski did reasonably well, and proved that he does have a chin….but couldn’t get a decent hit in without getting hit back – because Sylvia is a big lanky paluka. The refs gave the win to Sylvia. Not sure whats next for Arlovski.

The very first fight….was so incredibly messy that I couldn’t finish my steak. Yetch.

Oh, and after typing all that, I see they’ve already updated the results on the UFC website:

Here's the Shamrock video on YouTube. I was drunk off my ass by the time the first fight ended (the real bloody one), and was laughing hysterically, comparing it to Mortal Kombat. I ended up out before the Ken and Tito fight even started :(

I hate the way they shoot the UFC; it ends up looking like a cheap wwf show from the 80's. Pride is much better.
