Two different types of men?

I've noticed there are two different types of men...those that date or marry ugly or sub-par looking women, and those that don't...whether they don't get married at all, or they do the Rod Stewart thing and marry a new young hottie every 10 years, or they have one hot wife.

I know personality matters...no one wants a hottie with an attitude, and I know everyone has different tastes...but I'm talking women that would be UG3 or 4s to the majority, and guys who aren't UG dating or marrying them.

I think it was SoSuave's own Lovelylady that said something to the effect of "If you want to get an idea about what a man thinks of himself, look at the woman he's with."

I don't buy the "inner beauty" non-sense. Unless the guy truly does not check out or fantasize or masturbate to attractive women, he's no better than any other guy...he just took the easy way out and found an easy to get along with UG that doesn't bust his chops.

Two guys from my high school class, now mid 20s, are getting married to UGs. One guy, he's at least average or decent looking...the other guy was one of the guys that all the girls liked in high school and he still looks just as good, yet both of them are engaged to UG3 or 4s.

I'm not talking about AFC UG guys with no personality that have nothing to offer a woman and really can't do any better...but I don't get why any self-respecting guy would want to spend the rest of his life with a woman that has never been and currently isn't attractive by any man's standards.

Part of the reason I'm a virgin is because I've turned down a lot of easy opportunities with UGs, fatties, and crazy UG old women. I respect myself more, and know I can get better with a little more patience and hard work.

So any theories on why guys who aren't UG or fat marry UG or fat women?

Because although sex is important, it isn't everything. Because ***** feels the same whether she's hot or not. And the amount of drama she gives you is indirectly related to how much value she has compared to yours. Of course some girls are just *****es no matter what.

Agree. That is why you are an idiot if you live in America and get married. I believe in marriage in places where the divorce rate isn't over 50%. Call me crazy, but I like the odds in my favor.

Seeing that he is from America I believe him. Seeing a "decent" girl in America is rare in 2010. Just go read the massive thread on "thick women". That is what American males consider decent in 2010 America. Sick if you ask me.

I'm probably a 6 or 6.5 on the 10 scale lookswise. That means nothing to women that are 6 or better. To UGs/fatties/AVGs, I'm a prize.

My ex was an 8 and we did everything but sex...but I fell for her while she just wanted a fling, and could tell I liked her more than she liked me.

I've since been on dates with 6s/7s...also met a couple 9/10s on vacation...but just made out with one of them.

Whether it's uglies or fatties, or hotties, certain physical characteristics need to be taken into account. For me, it's height, hair color (I like blonds), and certain body type (shoulder/waste/hips ratio) that make me feel attracted to a particular woman, other than this, these women I am into are pretty average according to my peers or altogether not their type (i.e. too tall, etc.)

Once they get the green light physically, it's all about the character/personality.

There's four types right there.

Anyway, some of these guys are straight up making a mistake, no doubt. But maybe not all of them, who can say?

I can't imagine being with anyone I didn't find attractive, so I have to think there is something about these girls that these guys find physically appealing. If they are an HB3 or 4 in your eyes I know it's probably hard to believe, but they most likely see them differently than you do to some extent.
They must have some sort of baseline physical attraction to them.

It's possible these guys just have very low self esteem, so they are settling.

Or maybe they finally met someone with something that they were looking for, something in the way that they treat them, something in their personality, or something in the way they interact with each other.

If the girls are lower value than the guys, the guys may enjoy being in that position of power. As opposed to going with the high maintenance self entitled mega hottie who doesn't know how to control her spending because daddy always paid off her credit cards.

No. There are three types of guys:


Winners: guys who can get all the girls all the time.

Lucky's: guys who get girls randomly.

Losers: guys who don't get girls at all.





The lucky's make up the most part of the male population. Those are the guys who get ramdom girls for random reasons. It might be a desperate guy hitting an HB9 because she is insecure. It might be an ugly guy who hits a HB7 because he has confidence. It might be an average guy who hits an UG3 because she is the only girl that wants him despite having a million dollars on his bank account.

The guys you describe are the lucky's, because the lucky's have to gamble like they are in a casino. Are you willing to settle for one hundred dollars, or are you willing to lose one hundred dollars in order to get two hundred dollars? Are you going to settle for a UG3 or are you willing to lose that 3 in order to get a HB7? The lucky might meet a HB7 who wants him a month after dumping the UG3, but he might also have to wait 5 years before he meets an UG2 who wants him. His chances are random so he has to gamble.

Lol, I had to comment on this one as it reminded me of something I saw recently. I added an old friend on Facebook who has just joined on there, we haven't spoken much but I checked out some of his photos.

Well first of all he's got this recent photo of him at the gym (that seems to be his hobby).. and basically he looks RIPPED. Six-pack, muscles, all that stuff.. and I gotta admit it made me feel a tinge of jealousy and has inspired me to work out harder.

But his woman??? F*CK.... I'm not exaggerating when I say it looked like it could have been him and his MUM in the photos of them together, or even his AUNTIE... she is about 10 years older, way below average looking and FAT. In fact I think there was one with his Mum in the photo as well, and she actually looked YOUNGER.

I found myself thinking '... dude!!! You've got the body that chicks LOVE!! I'd f*ckin kill to have a body like that!! WTF are you doing with that trollop?!? You could do soooo much better!!' and I had to question exactly why someone would spend all that time and effort creating such a great body like that for themselves when at the end of it all they just end up with someone who makes zero effort whatsoever.

I also have another friend who is in a relationship with a fugly, but he just seems relieved to be in a relationship at all. She treats him like sh*t from what I've seen, and he just goes along with it (he even jokes pathetically 'I'm under the thumb') and just grudgingly accepts the situation without even trying to stand up for himself. He gets told what to do left right and centre, but in his eyes he is getting p***y so that makes it OK.

I mean come on... I can understand to an extent being under the thumb to an uber-hottie or someone like that (although even that would be a sin to be frowned upon), but under the thumb to a fat fugly?!?!? WTF is up with that!??

Not sure quite what the point of me telling you all this is, except that I'm perplexed.. has our society really instilled the princess complex into so many women now that even the fat ones consider themselves worthy of only the finest?? JEEZ......
