oh yea i forgot to mention im on a 5,000+ calorie diet so 2+ cans of tuna shouldnt really affect me

jathasnake - have you tried looking for tuna with sauce already included? At my local supermarket they sell cans of tuna in tomato sauce, tuna in sweet chilli sauce, tuna in lemon pepper sauce etc... i slap it on a sandwich with some slices of tomato or lettuce and the flavour is fine :)

btw, yes, I laugh at all the poor caucasians who have not learned the ancient chinese secret of cooking fish... poor white saps have to eat their fish raw. :D

Oxide -

1 can tuna... normally around 40 g's protein.

1 Cup cottage cheese... normally around 30 G's

1 Cup milk... 8 - 10.

That's 80. 2 meals of that. 160. Bam. Prollem solved, and that's without chicken or beef. heh.

Oh... with eggs... I don't know what your setup is.. but here's what I did during my cutting cycle.

I'm in college, and the dining commons makes a crapload of hardboiled eggs. So I'd get like 12 a day, and eat them at specified points. 4 for bfast, 4 between lunch and din, and 4 between din and bed...

Oh yeah, and just the whites. The whites are 3g's each, so it comes out to like 36 g's of protein. But if you're doing it yourself... hardboiling a dozen eggs a day is a lot of work/money :p

If you can tolerate it, Oxide, you can normally find 'loaded' cottage cheese, which is ~ 50 g of protein per 1 cup. Personally, however, I just normally eat 2 cups of normal cottage cheese, which, like semag said, is approximately 30 g of protein, while only being 160 calories and 2 g of fat.

Yeah...

1 cup cottage cheese
some flavored yogurt (strawberry)
1 orange
--------------
30-40 g's protein, only about 15-20 carbs, maybe 300 cals. Good source of stuff.

Semag - that sounds like a shytload of trouble and you get sick of all the eggs. Why not just eat 1 can of tuna or take a protein shake instead?

hell yeah. I'd never have done that if I didn't go to school where they made buckets of hardboiled eggs. It was just another source of protein during that cutting time. So, I did have the shakes and the tuna as well....

too much mercury, guys. the problem is it will kill your nervous system as it builds up it's a neurotoxin == no **** response when you are 30. you will care when you are 30

instead, eat sardines. same protein, not as fishy taste, and easy to eat straight out of the can.

I am not getting this. PLZ explain.

Why do sardines have less mercury than tuna? They both come out of the ocean and into the can.

In Response:

There are fears that mercury can damage the nervous system of unborn infants and can increase the risks of poisoning in young children.
High levels of mercury are found in shark, swordfish, king mackerel and marlin. It is also found at lower levels in fresh or frozen tuna.
- BBC

Mercury levels in yellowfin tuna caught off the coast of Hawaii have not changed in 27 years, despite a considerable increase in atmospheric mercury during this time, according to a new study. The findings suggest that the high levels of mercury that have been found in tuna and other ocean fish may not be coming from pollution, but from natural sources.

I eat a can of tuna every day. I drain it and put it in a bowl and add olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Very healthy meal and the balsamic vinegar hides the nasty taste of the tuna (eating a can a day makes it nasty eventually!).

delicious recipe in minutes!

SALSA

1 tomato
a few sprigs of cilantro
1 lime
diced onion
diced garlic

Add tuna to the salsa and then boil a large potato

serve the tuna/salsa on top of the potato for a great protein carb mix. its delicious and the potato balances out the fishy taste.
