If you don't already know, Joe Arpaio is the biggest piece of sh!t of a human being since D!ck Cheney. One of my best friends was locked up in one of his tent cities...for the horrible crime against humanity of driving a car on a revoked license. They got two meals a day, one of which was often a piece of white bread with barbecue sauce on it. My friend, who is now deceased from a motorcycle wreck, was diabetic. His friends and family had to come put money on his books so he could buy a little food to regulate his blood pressure...... so he wouldn't die. He bought that food from the prison commissary, which is owned by....drum roll pleeze..... the Arapio family. Joe starves the prisoners so his family can sell them food at outrageous prices. Deaths in his jails are not uncommon. He has been under several Federal investigations. Joe Arpaio is the biggest piece of sh!t on two legs on this planet right now.....and he is Trump's first presidential pardon.

Your buddy got a custodial sentence for driving with a revoked license? There's got to be more to the story. Why was his license revoked in the first place? DYI? Drugs? In any event, last I checked, sentencing was up to the judge, not the sheriff. If the sentence is unjust, I don't see what that has to do with Sheriff Joe.

From what I've read about Tent City, many prisoners actually preferred it to the regular jail as they had more freedom of movement. These guys (and girls) don't look particularly malnourished to me:

I voted for trump because of my hatred of Hillary. I never really cared about what he did, but this pardon has officially put me against him.

Yeeeeeah, going to need more details there, pal.

Either way, punishing the small crimes has been proven to impact society for the better.

My friend did have a prior drug charge, which of course means he deserved to die in jail, I realize.

I can see a right-wing think tank coming out with "proof" of that assertion, which is merely manipulated statistics to further the agenda of the police/prison state,

Are you claiming that the War on Drugs was/is still a good idea? Jeff Sessions is a fan, but I didn't think anyone young enough to use the Internet still believed such a thing.

I don't think marijuana should be illegal, anything tied to it wouldn't be a crime anyway. But other than that - yeah, I do think the war on dangerous drugs generally is a good thing. Some stuff is just dangerous.

Blame Joe all you want, he did not set the sentence.

The man was rightfully targeting illegals, meanwhile Barry pardons hardened violent criminals.

This makes me support Trump all the more.
Op! This guy is a subtle racist troll. Don't take this thing seriously.

Fox News never quit spewing that lie. It really touches a chord with their core demographic - senile and racist 80 year olds.

Here is the full list of Obama pardons. https://www.justice.gov/pardon/obama-pardons Most of them are non-violent drug offenders. I have more respect for Obama because of the pardons he issued than anything else he accomplished as president.

Lots of dope pushers on that list. I guess selling crack and heroine to kids is not quite as morally reprehensible as asking immigrants to show their ID to prove they are in the country legally these days.

As for hardened violent criminals, I am assuming that Danger was referring to Oscar Lopez Riviera, a terrorist who is responsible for over 120 bombings, 6 deaths, dozens of injuries, armed robbery, etc. Pretty minor stuff in the eyes of the core CNN demographic - self-hating white liberals with impaired cognitive ability after years of smoking weed.

Drug charges like that are crafted to cater to the pro-hate agenda. Any quantity over a personal use amount means you are a dealer, and getting caught within a thousand or so feet of a school means you are selling to kids. They also include day cares as schools. If you overlap all those zones in an urban area, they mostly encompass the urban area. And what color of people live in urban areas? I can't remember, but obviously the law has been crafted to punish those people twice as much.

Fifty years ago, 90% of murder cases were solved. But ever since the War on Drugs was escalated, now only 64% of murders are solved.

The federal government bribes the police through federal grants and civil asset forfeiture for making drug arrests, giving the police a financial incentive to prioritize their resources towards catching the low hanging fruit of drug users rather than solving real crime.

I think the biggest impact of the Arpaio pardon is that it shows Trump will not hesitate to use pardon power for his allies. Federal prosecutors, and the special counsel investigating Trump are not stupid people. They are going to start pursuing state charges, instead of Federal, over which Trump has no pardon power. The governor of the state in question would have that power, so they will pick states with Democrat governors, if they want a conviction against any of Trump's people to stick.

That seems to be the case:

Trump could give each and every American a 100k job With five months per year vacation, 100% housing and utilities paid, free healthcare the rest of their lives, free college for all of their kids, and all the weed they could smoke for free for the rest of their lives. And some people would still hate on him, his family, his hair, and every single thing that he did. Is this pardon story legit ? Did Trump really screw up this time? Maybe, but I'm not going to pay attention to the story because hearing about all of trumps "mistakes" have become the boy who cried Wolf syndrome to me. Don't care anymore. The people who think Trump is doing a bad job need to pick their battles a little better and maybe I will start listening again . Right now all it is to me is emotional goon babble.
