lookyoung: I looked at John's recent posts, and he stopped dropping the real stupid posts after the 10th and actually moved up into discussion. We'll give him that, but if he starts trolling again, just ID the sucker.

With Babnik, I haven't paid much attention to him. Again, same deal as Johnny.

Vulpine: I know there are tools out there, this is just another one. Get a few good people using the system (that's all we need!) and the system becomes operational. The point of the IDing is to mark threads and the troller, not only for evidence when the mods (Allen) figure out whether it's a +ID or a -ID, but also to bluntly expose him. The system protects itself with good command (me, mods)

You can tell that when DJDoomage trolled this thread as well, he's defenseless against the system. He tried IDing us, but we just ignore him because he's already an exposed troll, and the IDing that we do marks MORE threads for mods, and the counter-IDing that the troll fires back funny enough, marks him even more and shows that he is trolling back anyways. He can't fight the system, because the more he does, the more he's IDed. Blammo, game over.

As for your sigging, I don't want to remove you from the list of +IDer.

As DJDoomage has now shown us if we can't stop trolls immediately they will only flame ten times as hard when they think their time is almost up

I thought this website was really great when it started. But now its really going downhill. And I know alot of you agree.

Something needs to be done. This place needs a facelift. And not a cosmetic one like changing the forum software again. We need to clean up the ****. And why the hell is that censored out?

Apparently DJDoomage seems to think that small talk, and one line humor is a "troll" offense.

IMO - Constant, unwarranted personal attacks, flame-war instigation, horrible advice, keyboard jockeying, thread starting that has been gone over 100s of times, etc are trolls...

Just chiming in here and there, while giving good advice other places, not a troll.

Trolls are not people that present a good argument, or even talk out of their ass. Trolls are people that purposely try to screw stuff up.

Isn't this entire thread hypocritical, if we observe the definition of an online troll?

I've started listening to Vulpine, and just put people on an ignore list. If you guys couldn't bear to miss out on the 'dirt' that another afc is writing, then I guess the ignore function isn't for you. On the other hand, if you're actually here for the intended purpose of the website, people who annoy you and others shouldn't bother you, because you really don't need to listen to them.

In my opinion this whole thread is ridiculous regardless of the number of trolls "out there", and should be locked.

I suppose some people like getting caught up in e-drama, and like the 'fight' against the trolls. It's just not for me.

If this actually goes through though, good luck.

This seems way too complicated and excessive to me it's like using a RPG to take out one terrorist when a bullet can do the samething. I think just sending PM to mods of the name of the troll with posts/thread for evidence is sufficient. Also you can use the ignore list like other ppl said.

There are techniques here that will land you girls, but you have to figure out at some point when they apply and when they stop applying. There IS a line between playing the seduction/attraction game, and a point where it's completely unnecessary because you've entered the realm of a LTR, where the rules and circumstances are completely different. You might see each other 3 times a week, sleep over at each other's houses every so often, share rides, pool money towards a common goal, etc.

Docs - I like this Idea, but I do not think that the Admins/Moderators are really going to do anything about this issue, even if we try to clarify it. But you never know, in due time we shall see what the Moderators will do.
