Hello fellow DJ's!,

i dont post much now-a-days, only to give the odd advice but i need a bit myself (dont know if this belongs in the off-topic folder though so mods, please move it if it does)

recently i've got rid of a LTR (of 8 months) because i was simply bored and wanted to experience different things/women, plus she also had a kid which pissed me off a bit but it's all over, anyway the scenario is recently i've been toying with the idea of travelling and going to live/work in another country just to try out different things BUT i hear from different people that i'm too old to think about something like this at 28, i should concentrate on my career and stay home etc but something tells me in the back of my head that i should do this,

what does my fellow DJ's think about this as this is seriously something i'm considering doing next year, has any of you done anything like this in your late 20's?, tough decision as i have a decent job but still live at home with parents as i'm saving money hard.

comments?

Screw that ageist mentality.

People that think you have to have yourself settled down by the time you're 30 are living in fantasyland. As far as I'm concerned... if you think you know who you are when you're 25 you're in trouble.

Also, times are changing. 50 is the new 30.

Go for it... six months of travelling is easily as much of a life-lesson as five years of working full-time at some "career" of a job.

Nah, I think if you want to do it you should. Life is too precious to go through it with regrets.

I am actually making some major life changes at 30.

The traveling can actually HELP you in a future career. It's resume` worthy depending on how you frame it.

If your going to be a big shot some day you will NEED this kind of experience. Hell, while having fun you may accidentally bump into some career opportunities.

Don't listen to those people: those are words coming out of a scared sheeple's mouth, someone who is so afraid of the status quo being changed that they try to bring down other people.

I'm 29 and am making massive changes in my life, including quitting my job, starting my own business and sarging like there is no tomorrow.

At your age you are mature enough that travelling will even be MORE valuable, because you will be able to experience it at a level that your younger self may not have. With the knowledge gained here, you will be able to game women all over the world and sample the beauty and culture the world has to offer in the form of women. Of course it doesn't hurt to see the beautiful landscapes and architecture along the way.

So I say go for it.

Don't listen to people, their lives are so pathetic that they want you to join the loser parade. I made a major career change in my late 30's, going to grad school. I had people at my work place tell me I was nuts, and most are still stuck in their dead-end jobs.

Also, the business world is international these days. The more well-versed in the ways of the world, the better off you'll be.

And the older you get, the tougher it is to do things like travel.

F-ck the world, do what you want. Part of the DJ mentality is living for one's own self not to appease others ... actually that's a HUGE part of the DJ mentality.

Listen to your own heart, not the babblings of others.

I myself got the oportunity to go work in a foreign country 3 years ago. Not only a foreign country, but the former enemy, behind the iron curtain, the realm of evil yada yada...

I can only say - living abroad is a real eye opener in every possible aspect. You start to realize that so many things you thought were natural and human nature are products of socialization, of the society brain washing you, and may be absolutely different.

When it comes to women btw, Russia is quite interesting. On the one hand women demand and get lots of male behaviour that is downright AFC. Worshipping, reading her every wish from her lips, making her feel like the queen... but this is embedded in a society with very clear role models for men, which demands men to be of character, strong willed leaders. No pussification and no feminism here up to date. So this AFC stuff has no negative consequences here.
BTW got off on a tangent... might make that a several post these days.

To make it short - absolutely go for it! I guarantee it will be a deep and lasting impression and will give you more insight than you could gain sitting home in your own country, in your own native matrix.

Here's what happens if you don't: the pressure to marry from friends and family will keep closing in, you'll cave in, get saddled down with mortgages, bills, fat wifey, screaming kids ... at age 50 you'd say, damn, why didn't I travel!

The advice from outsiders is wrong usually about 90 percent of the time.

You can travel at any age, as long as your health holds up. Who is going to stop you? Last I heard they are not confiscating passports from people over 30 yet.

go now.....I just started travelling internationally after marriage, and now I can see I was a fool for not going earlier....I have been spending time in the Philippines and love it, but there are probably not too many business opportunities there.

Think about it this way - travel while you're still young. Imagine yourself at 70 and unable to move around or even fly. Now's the time to travel and enjoy!

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

28 old for travelling?

Heck...I know men in ther 40s that do the travel thing and they do it very well. In Europe is VERY common to see men in their 50s and 60s with women 20 and even 30 years their jr.

Yea - I'm going to go in a few month. Again I didn't do it in my early twenties and now almost 20 with my life going nowhere fast I don't want to waste another year working in a job that doesn't fulfil me, coming home to TV and occasionally pulling the odd girl that doesn't excite me.

Do it unless YOU have a reason to stay! At the very least it will make you a much more interesting person to other people once you get home.

Oh and remember - alot of "advice" people give is them projecting their reasons for why they shouldn't do it and their envy for people that do it. Misery loves company.

Avtually, I think this is quite a good point. Recently I was in a discussion with some friends and the subject got on to travelling. Others had much more to add to the conversation than me and I can definately tell people were impressed with how interesting one of the guys was who had travelled around and experienced an awful lot.. its character building too...

Having said that, I am the same age and I was considering the same the other day. I decided against it... I am also living at home with my parents and saving a lot.. For now, with the job I have its too large a risk to go travelling.. I may change my mind in a year or so though :)

Hey, pal. Go for it. Personally I'm a person whom likes to travel around and living as a backpacker for several weeks.

My views in life. "I only live once, and I'm going to experience the different lives and cultures of my fellow friends all over the world."

This induce me to aim for the job i always dreamt of. Being a commercial Pilot. & I'm fighting for it.
