I thought I was on the right track. I really did. I've been trying to improve myself for the past year that I've been involved with this site. Various events lately show that while I may be better off than when I started, I still have not gotten rid of my true problem.

I realize now that this whole time I was trying to break through the thick shell of my own timidness. Inside the shell, there is a confident, smart, witty man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to pursue it.

I can feel this shell around me. It has been called the comfort zone. I need to get rid of it to be who I really am.

I challenge myself to destroy this shell by doing something outside my comfort zone every day from now on. If you feel like I do, I invite you to do the same and post about it here.

Tomorrow: I'm a lifeguard. During our break, all us lifeguards jump off the diving board. Many of the other lifeguards are real daredevils and do flips and ****. Ive always been too much of a ***** to try it. Tomorrow I'll do a few flips off the diving board. It may be small, but it is definitely outside my comfort zone.

ok, well i did a few flips today... it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, but it hurt like hell when I landed straight on my back. I gotta work on that.

I dont have any ideas yet for tomorrow.

looking down the road though, I just read that post about an open mic performance and I'd have to say that sounds like a good idea. I'm good at guitar and this is definetly outside my comfort zone.
