Hey guys, Some background: I met HB8 last summer through a mutual friend, she had a BF at the time. They broke up in Feb. and I still never showed any real interest in her, because she had all the signs of an attention *****. While my friends were hanging out, I never really had a conversation past hello with her, and I often neg hitted her because she was acted like a superior being. While my friends were giving her way too much attention, I acted like I didn't give a crap about her.

Anyway so about 3 days ago, HB8 got my screen name and begins messaging me, I had no idea who it was, but then I figured it out. So We talked a few times in the past week, then last night she IMed me again and we had a playful conversation. Here are some parts I can't understand...

in the middle of our convo, out of nowhere she says

HB8:you know, you're interesting
Me:thank you
HB8:all I know about you is your best friend is Mike, your favorite word is NEXT and blah blah
Me: Thats all you need to know for now, maybe i'll let you know more, someday :-D
HB8: Thats all I want to know now, thanks
Me: Surree

Basically throughout the conversation there were times where I hinted that I knows she liked me, but she came back with replys denying it to which I just said surree. Then she asked me If I was going to so and so's house this weekend, and I said "no im busy, but you can't wait to see me huh", she replied with something like "don't flatter yourself hun" then laughed.

Is this girl interested? Or is she just trying to win my attention, because she knows I haven't given her any in the past. Either she wants me or this girl is so desperate for my attention she needs to keep IMing me.

And before you ask, I already intend to ask her phone number then out to do something because I can't stand INstant Messaging for more then just hello/goodbye.

I think she sees you as a sarcastic guy that has a jokey (as in not very serious) attitude and she is responding in the same way as you talk to her.

I suggest you don't overuse the neg hits and ****iness so much around her, because it could easily turn her off and make your chances with her go down to zero.

It's great that you ignore her and are not desperate about her like most of her guy friends, and i'm sure this makes her more attracted to you. However, there is a time when you need to be more serious and let her know where you stand. That's what i think...

Yes I am sarcastic and jokey, and we were going back and forth with each other(she was actually neg-hitting ME at times, I guess cause I was trying to sound arrogant so she knows I won't kiss her feet) but what explains the random IMs? Why did she IM me out of nowhere? And why did she call me "interesting", does this mean she sees me as a mystery?

IS there some interest here? or again, is she being an A.W.

The reason I want to know is because I m wondering if this is even worth pursuing.

Flyinshark- What do you mean by "be more serious and let her know where you stand"?

Don't you think If I don't continue to neg-hit she will see me as those "friends" we just talked about? Or have I already established that we're past that?

I get your point, and of course the world isnt gonna explode if the girl is turned off.

But as men, when we pursue a girl, we intend to succeed into having her. However, if the girl is turned off, then it means that we can't have her anymore, and therefore we failed. It's not the outcome we were looking for.

She started to IM you outta nowhere because she had some interest in you, that's without a doubt. But that was BEFORE she knew about your ****y attitude.

In the begining, you kinda have established that you are different from her friends... But by keeping the same attitude maybe she started to not take you so seriously anymore.

If you continue in the same way, i think you will screw up your chances with her. She will talk to you with the sole purpose of being entertained. Kinda like the king's fool, if u know what i mean. Amusement purposes only. And that's not the way you want her to see you.

There is a SLIGHT chance that you will drive her nuts if you keep ignoring her, and she will then be all over you, in a good way. But i'd say that this is less likely to happen.

Let her know where you stand : i mean become serious in one conversation with her and ask her out or get her phone number. Show some interest in her instead of making fun of her and ignoring her all the time.

Wow, I think you're spot on. I appreciate it. Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't all flirt talk and neg hits, we had a few intelligent things thrown in there . If nothing else, I've definately learned to tone down the ****y/funny stuff a bit.
