Does Optimus Prime have the same voice as the animated series? God he had a sexy voice....

Yeah, if its not him its pretty similar.

Loved it, but whoever said its a guy movie I dont fully agree, I took my chick and she loved it.

Awesome fight scenes but too choppy and fast styles of action (next gen camera work wank, I wanna see more, not 2 seconds douches)

Few gripes, the overacting boy hero was as annoying as fvck. That brunette chick was too hot and momentarily distracted me from the total awesomeness of the transformers, and as if she would know that much about cars, by default shes too hot for car knowledge (crim dad or not).

That cutesy little decepticon cd player was sh!t house aswell.

Too much comic relief.

But the fight scenes, special effects and revisit of the coolest kick ass toys that cant even be matched 20 plus years later was definately worth it.

I LOVED this picture! It was a bit hokey but I expected that from Michael Bay. The only thing I found perturbing was no Soundwave and Starscream was not the voice of his cartoon counterpart, Chris Latta who was also the voice of my 2nd favorite villain Cobra Commander.

Saw the movie and thought it was great escapism/eye-candy. Just what a summer movie should be! Optimus Prime is still my favorite, and Bumblebee is a very close second. I remember Megatron (in the cartoon series) being much more sneaky and plotting, in the movie he's like a mindless, raging freight train with none of the cool evilness a good arch-villian should have.

I agree with the fact that the girl was "too hot", she's not believable as a High School student. (A Brazilian super-model, yes, but not High School)

It's NOT a boring movie and I think I got my $7.00 worth.

I thought it was a good movie but my only gripe was the lack of character development for the Decepticons. As WaterTiger said, Megatron is a clever, manipulative schemer rather than some mindless man man, but this didn't show. His voice sounded nearly the same as Optimus Prime's. I loved the orignal Megatron voice. And Starscream being the backstabber and plotting against Megatron's leadership didn't come through at all. Devastator was completely different from the cartoon and who the hell was that Decepticon police car robot? But overall, it was a good movie and perhaps as a big fan of the original cartoons and comics I was expecting it to be closer to the original.

The brunette was too hot for high school. And you had not one but two nods to "post feminist girl power" (expect that from Bay and Spielberg). The brunette could fix cars and the other one was the hot leader of a bunch of dorky male science/hacker types.
I would say most of the human characters were cardboard cliche characters but this is Bay and Spielberg we're talking about and I did go into this movie anticipating that the humans may get a lot of screen time unlike the animated shows.

But it was worth it just for seeing our autobots and decepticons. Good job considering they had to leave a lot of important autobots and decepticons out of this movie. Maybe next time we'll get Soundwave and Shockwave. And of course more Megatron and Starscream.

what really stands out though is..
the stupidity of Sam trying to pawn off valuable items that should have been in a museum just so he can buy a $2000 car is RETARDED and the fact that he plays himself in highschool having the entire class mock him, and he still continues to act like moron without any self esteem issues is EXTREMELY UNBELIEVABLE.

Why would 20 ft transforming cars with missiles and guns care about being discovered by some stupid kids parents and play a pathetic game of hide and seek.

why would michael bay include cheesy elevator music throughout the entire movie..and try to make me feel sad and sentimental about a transforming car ??

why is optimus prime a HUGE PUSSY !! why is optimus prime the only pansy ass robot that feels the need to protect humans ?

why do the autobots make obnoxious immature cheesy comments ?

why is everyones acting a complete joke ??

what was the point of the incredibly BAD humor in the movie ?

Looking back, a little disappointed but straight after I thought it was pretty immense.

I would have liked to have seen more fighting and less emphasis on the humans.

I watched a torrent version because it's not out in the UK yet (I will be going once it hits the cinemas) but it appeared to me that Optimus was getting owned by Megatron before THE LITTLE BOY defeated him with the energon cube.

Tell me it was just the poor quality of the video and that Optimus beat Megatron himself.

Just not enough emphasis on the actual Transformers.

I much preferred the cartoon film which I watched hundreds of times as a nipper.

They got Peter Cullen for Prime which couldn't be better. But don't the filmmakers know that Frank Welker (Megatron) is still alive? Or did they make him audition (like they did Peter Cullen) for the role he made and then reject him. I would think they would offer the role to them, not even consider anyone else unless they declined.

Never sad they couldn't be hot,skilled, and smart but in the movies it's almost always the chicks. Guys who are smart and skilled are usually plain looking, unattractive, or unsexy.
