the short answer is, yes, stick with once a week.

Different things work for different people. Do whatever you feel would optimize your gains.

Im gaining an assload of strength training each body part 2x a week. Check out my workout journal.

Really depends on what you're doing, your program, your training history, your goals, etc etc. Training EACH bodybpart twice a week with equal intensity/volume/whatever probably is too much.

Then again some bodyparts NEED to be hit more than once a week to grow, and they need to be hit HARD. Calves for example are extremely stubborn and a few sets once a week won't do them much good.

I've also seen pretty good gains when I was squatting, heavy, 3x/week. But this only worked because of the way the program was designed.

So another short answer is this: it's a loaded question.

If you mean with regards to heavy lifting like Diesel's plan sticked at the top, probably so. If you're not a gym brute though and just "exercise", I recommend exercising every day, but probably in practice missing one day a week.

I recommend only doing that hard core heavy lifting like Diesel has sticked if you want to do that just for yourself. If women is the #1 objective, there are less intense way to get fit and healthy that women will find just as attractive. When your Brad Pitts and George Clooney's start becoming muscle bound 250 pounders, i might become interested; but until then..................

The stereotypes you see in hollywood are actually pretty accurate. How do they protray an Arnold Swartnegger (sp) or Silvester Stallone; as lady men? No. Those are brutes who kill people and blow up stuff. When you think lady's men, think more Clooney, Pitt, Richard Gere and Michael Douglas.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

This is possibly the most retarded advice anyone has given out on this forum (and that's saying something). "Hard core heavy lifting" allows you to train 1 hour, 3 times a week, with an intensity that is enjoyable in and of itself. I'm curious about these other "less intense" ways to become attractive to women. There are no short cuts, and heavy lifting is appropriate for guys (and gals!) who want to weigh way less than 250 lbs of solid muscle. And diet is the key anyway -- if you don't want to get that big, lift hard & heavy but consume less protein and kcals.

seconded, Throttle!

I say: you're a skinny runt at 150 and want to get up to a lean 180-190 or whatever your 'ideal adonis' whatever is at. here's a hint, training like a girl and eating like you're 150 (tuna, ricecakes, v8) won't get you there. people think they're gonna get pull a bar off the floor and blow up overnight so they do seated cable rows instead, and then wonder why, three years later, they're exactly the same size.

unless you mean my girl, who trains harder on the weights than i do now and eats like she's 150 :D (sorry, can't help but brag, she's turning herself into one lithe kitty, by ignoring the conventional wisdom and occasionally listening to me)

awesome! good for her! I'm sure you're a great teacher bro. And you can punish her when she doesn't do what you say. ;)

my 'kitty' eats like she's twice the size too.. and she packs a punch! she split my lip recently with her elbow. :D (she's 115-120 if that, was a blow to my ego in more ways than one! lol)

lol...mine mostly doesn't inflict physical harm. if i wanted a dose of domestic violence i'd have to pay my ex a housecall.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Since pro athletes do it, you can do it too
1) you probably won't grow much faster than training once a week
2) you will need proper rest - sauna, lots of sleep, massage, stretches, good diet, hydration... yadda yadda

I would not do it personally. The benefits are not there. I prefer to work out for pleasure, but regularly. One workout with weights and one cardio.
