Now on carbs, i heard the best way to lose weight is to go by a 0 carb diet. I wont go on the 0 carb diet though because it takes away energy........
The best way to lose weight, is to eat everything in moderation, so that, although you are still going into a calorie deficit, you are not neglecting any of your major food groups, which means that you won't be deficient in a particular vitamin or mineral.
As a basic guideline for recreational athletes, I would aim for 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Any excess protein that you do ingest, will be broken down into amino acids, and those excess amino acids will be broken down in the liver by a process called oxidative deamination (remember, the body cannot store protein or amino acids in the body like it can with fat or glucose), where the nitrogen (ammonia) is removed from the amino acid, combined with carbon dioxide, and excreted through the kidneys as urea in the urine. What is left will either be used a source of cellular fuel, or stored as fat in your adipose tissues.
If you are wanting to lose weight, aim for a CFP ratio of 55-60% C, 20-25% F, 20-25% P. You wil still only be eating e.g. 2'000Kcal per day, so these are the percenatges of what you eat.
Remember, that a gram of protein or carbohydrate contains 4Kcal, and a gram of fat contains 9Kcal. This may help you to workout how many carbs you should be eating.
