Title says it all, really. I recently watched the movie Rock of Ages. Okay, it's not very good. But check out Tom Cruise's character in this movie to see the difference between how men and women age. Yeah, people call him everything from gay to a nutjob, but there's no question he still oozes star power and charisma.

I write this because there are always posts here from some guy in his 30s, complaining how he can't get younger women any longer because they think it's creepy or whatever. Look at Cruise in this movie at 50 and tell me if you think he would have trouble picking up younger girls, fame or no fame. In fact, his character coud easily pass for being in his 30s IMO. This is how you want to age, gentlemen: Stay in shape, keep your edge, and know your value.

We all agree with the message but I guess our genes didnt get the memo regarding aging that way, it probably got lost togheter with the height and broad shoulders one.

Zekko not trolling you but you realize yourself how most of us are strongly influenced from genetics? from body to behaviour?

Our choices and environment can push in a way or an other among the ones planned from our dna, but no new ways can be created.

But if you know a way to grow back hair or get my c0ck bigger I'll sign you a 50k euros check right now.

I completely agree.

If you're bald, take a look at Jason Statham.. he's 45 and in similar shape to Cruise.

10k $ worth of hair transplant and corrective surgery, done in Mexico, 2k worth of work on your teeth, and most ofyou can look plenty good enough. So what's 15k or so? Live in a van for a year, work N. Dakoto oilfields for the summer, hurricane cleanup in the SE for the winter, and presto, you'ved got your face the way you want it.

With the increasing number of faggots coming up in every generation.. dating older men will be the NORM for many woman.

Trust me.. at 50 most of you will do just fine.. provided you don't become a total loser f*ck-up :D. This is why I advise men to focus on education, money and power above all things. Women will always be there for a man who has resources (like Tom Cruise.. even though he is batsh!t crazy and everyone knows it. Doesn't matter does it? He is Tom Cruise).

Chasing women in your youth while ignoring your own development will give you a similar sexual decline to a woman. Once your looks and youth are gone you will be worthless. Then you'll be forced to "settle".

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

Wise words, PlayHer Man.

We, as enlightened men, must play our cards right to win the game of life. This involves being physically fit, mentally strong and morally straight.

Furthermore, we should strive to develop our education and influence as much as possible. Women come and go, but your education will not leave you.

In regards to Mr. Cruise, I've always been a fan. It seems like everyone with an opinionated mouth has something negative to say about him, but the fact remains the he is a self-made man with a net worth of $270 million. He regularly commands $12 to 25 million per movie and is mobbed by adoring fans worldwide.

He's also 5'7" and 50 years old.

I think the genes do play a big part. I'm usually guessed to be about 35 to 40 (on the very high end) and I'm convinced a lot of it is simply the luck of the draw.

With cruise, a lot of it is lighting and makeup, too. I notice he has a lot more wrinkles than I. I suppose if I had wrinkles I'd look a lot older. The icing on the cake is that if you're a late bloomer (read "tend toward immaturity") the years are kinder to you.

With Hollywood guys like our beloved Tom, it's not just genes, makeup, CGI and taking good care of oneself, it's the HGH too.

I am a big fan of Tom Cruise, I really think he is a modern day alpha male. He seems to have been demonized by his involvement with scientology, and the heightest tag may have been used against him a bit as well. In a past era he would be the quintisential alpha male for sure. He is a classic example of how men age better than women, one only need look at his earlier movies and compare what he looked to now.

This thread wouldn't be complete without the classic picture comparison of how Cruise and Kelly McGillis (the stars of Top Gun) have aged. This has been posted several times here, and helps demonstrate the difference in how men and women age:

One thing about Tom Cruise is that he seems to have an even greater edge now that he is older, he has some level of gravitas he didn't have before. Perhaps it's because he carries the accomplishments of a highly successful career around with him.

I do think genetics plays a part. For whatever reason, and in many ways, I think I've actually gotten better looking as I've gotten older. I certainly seem to get a better reaction from females of all ages. Stay fit, build your inner game, improve yourself financially, hone your edge, and you can experience success when you're older.

Admittedly, I've been lucky enough to keep my hair. But I know plenty of bald or balding guys who are with very attractive women. A friend of mine my age is completely bald and regularly bangs girls 18-22. Those of you who are using age as an excuse for failure have fallen victim to self limiting beliefs.

How on earth is your friend meeting these women? Surely it's through work or something... I can't see how he'd be able to pick them up from bars or anything..

Yeah, a lot of it is through work, directly or indirectly. He's a general manager (not sure if that's the right term) over a chain of franchise restaurants. Lots of younger people work in that industry. After-work parties, he can meet their friends, etc. When you have time to build rapport, age makes less of a difference, I find. And of course he's in a leadership position.

Even when he was a youngster (I grew up with him) he was always very confident. Far more confident than his looks and circumstances merited, I thought, lol. But apparently it's still working for him.

I know a good deal of young people myself. When you are in their extended social circle, girls start to just see you as one of the guys. Your age may even come off as kind of exotic to them. For whatever reason, I've always found myself in the company of a lot of younger people. Probably because there aren't any people my age lol.

Ever seen the movie "Waiting"? They ditch their older manager from coming to the party, but that's because the guy is a d!ck. But Luis Guzman, who is older, not only goes to the parties, he is also banging one of the hotties. If you're a cool guy, they're not going to shut you out. I find that most adults are willing to and comfortable with hanging around with people of different age groups. Adult life is not like high school.

Hell, I have no trouble with it. I'm 60. :) I just aint interested in US women. I can make the shooting and karate instruction turn into a sexual liason, easily enough. Many lovely young women love that stuff. But I am not going to invest all that time into somebody who's likely to give me an STD, have exe's lurking, and have family/friends crawling out of her ears. A filipina might need/want to be on Skype or the Net quite a bit, but at least the complications are 8,000 miles distant, and don't need lots of money to help them out. Here, when a relative is in a jam of some sort, it's $1000 at time. Over there, $50 makes them joyful.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

I disagree. Collateral was very good IMO.
The last GREAT movie he did was Vanilla Sky. One of my favorites.

I thought Collateral was bland.
