I personally would like to know why you were so offended by that thread. I wasn't even involved in it, so I have no personal stake. I'm just curious. A case of pure racial privilege, and the thread was closed. I understand that it could have dove into a bad discussion, but there have been many racial threads recently that did not, so please don't give that excuse. I truly want to know why black racism should be tolerated and not discussed.

I wasn't the MOD who closed the thread you are talking about, in fact I haven't yet seen it. But what I can tell you is that we are, in general, as of late cracking down a notch or two on racial related threads. We all know racism exists and we all know it flows multiple directions. Why fuel either flow?

I've been on this site since about '04. "Race" threads were tolerated in the past, just there wasn't as many. There just wasn't as many related issues. There wasn't a Jaylan and there wasn't an administration with policies pushing a racial agenda and encouraging poor behavior everywhere and ratcheting up PCism not to mention the gay agenda.

Tis true, the leadership at the top is what is doing it more than anything. The ridiculous crap like Ferguson didn't fly under anyone with a brain. I still don't understand how any self-respecting white person buys into it, though. And they DO, thus the basis for this thread. I'd like to know how people can deny the blatant racism when it's fact.

I have tons of respect for Tenacity, because deep down, even though you know it's right, it would piss me off just seeing others discuss my 'people' even though you know they are wrong. That is human nature. Honestly, it's guys like him, that keep me on the right side of the fence, instead of going out and joining the militia.

I can kind of see why the moderators are trying to crack down on race-related threads (though I note that gaylan's 6-pager below remains open). Such threads are inherently controversial. But the reality is that racial tensions have a boiling point these days. People want to discuss race-related issues because they affect their lives on a daily basis. You might as well close down the "Anything Else" forum altogether. You can't talk about life in the contemporary society without talking about race.

Starbucks indeed did attempt that, but it was disingenuous. They are not interested in race discussions unless it is the PC narrative endorsed, meaning "bad racist whitey".
