I'm in my 50s and getting grey. No kidding! I've always resisted coloring thinking it's vain or some such crap. Also I kind of think grey looks good on some men - Clooney, Johnny Carson. However i don't look like either of those guys.

So now I'm wondering whether a hair makeover might help my game. Course I could just shave myself bald like Neil Strauss.

Any opinions?

At 50 it's hard to say. Some guys start getting gray in their 30's and I think they should color their hair. It could only help your game to color it.

Dear Dave,
Interesting, but my Father reckons his Uncle came back from France after World War 1 had finished and he was grey at 19 !....Sure colour your hair, who cares?....as a tip going Silver Grey all over is less of a give away, failing that go for a similar colour to your natural colour, don't go blonde unless you are already light brown, don't go black unless you are at least Slate..You will get criticism, but only from Guys who are greying themselves...You will be surprised how young looking it makes you,I reckon at least five maybe more years...Do it following your next Annual Holidays raises less interest that way.

I'm 33 and I'm seeing greys pop up quicker than mushrooms. Not enough to dye my hair, but starting to get tiring plucking them out. But better to go grey then go bald I guess.

Shoot, I'm starting to go bald, so at least you're keeping yours into your 50's. If I were in that situation, I'd let it grey. You've earned it by that time. As for me, I'm going to keep shaving my head; women seem to like it and it does feels good when a cool wind blows on it.

Gray and loving it.

I was thinking about doing the same however.. women go though all that crap with the makeup coloring hair and a hell of alot more. I like being myself that is what sets us apart from women and they love it... so I think :) I have be told by many women that they love my gray hair.. they say it makes me look distinguish. I think that women are looking for that father type man or a man that look like he know what the hell is going on in life and how to handle them and everything else. I may color or even cut the gray hair that is growing down south of my border lol thats not a cool color down there
